2 Taylor Robertson
1 Ana Llanusa
4 Maddie Williams
5 Emma Sbvoda
3 Gabby Gregory

I think Emma gets the start at the 5 over Scott because of Liz’s injury history.

I know it seems somewhat crazy, but I think Anna starts at point (1) because of her experience and leadership. Plus she can score , drive and she gives us senior leadership.

I know that thought is way out there on the edge, however.

Robertson and Maddie are locks to start.

Can you have a player that for their career has done so poor of a job at shot selection (career .294 BTA taking 45.5% of shots BTA) playing point and making the decision on where to distribute the ball? I think not.

To me while very skilled Ana has never shown she has the BB IQ to be a point guard. With the ball in Ana's hands I just see bad decision after bad decision unless Jennie can work a miracle. And I think love only goes so far. JMHO!

Well you make good points. Her shot decisions are not very good and she’s a so-so shooter.

However, that could be because Sherri’s system sucked at the end of her tenure.

Ana shouldered a lot of the burden on the squad before she got hurt and she’s never really had a chance with the starters from the last two years.

But she does bring experience and knowledge and she could provide more points than Tot does at point, which is something we desperately need.

I think she COULD be better than Tot, or equal to, if given the chance.

If she doesn’t start, then does that mean she quits or just plays out the season on the bench?

I’d just retire in that case. I think.

Until we see some of the new kids, it is too early to project other than Maddie. You would think Robertson and Gabbie, but Coach might have a preference for better athletes.

However, just for fun, here is my guess (starting lineup by conference play):

Maddie and Liz Scott inside
Ana and Gregory on the wing
Kelbie Washington at the point

Oh and btw, I think TR and KT are the first off the bench on the outside and Lampkin is first off the bench inside.

If Ana isn't fully recovered or can't regain her form, then I think TR or KT starts on the wing.

Robertson is too prolific to be in the bench. Not having her on the floor would decimate our shooting percentage and offense.

Another conundrum for me is Gregory. She did become more productive as last season went on.

Do you bench Robertson or Llanusa for her. Anna maybe. Robertson NO

Oliver: There are so many questions about this team you really can't even begin to figure out who plays. Will Liz regain form? Will Ana regain form? Is Emma Sv for real? What does Lampkin look like with a year off? Then, the wildcard for me is B White. She is really good and athletic. So, where does she fit in.

If sherri was back, I would have guessed at another lineup and put TR in along with Maddie, as sure bets. This year you have so many questions regarding players and then how the new staff will see kids, that it is just impossible to figure out at this point.

I will be suprised if we aren't better than the last couple of years, regardless of who plays.

Madi, Gabby, and T-Rob are locks to start at the 2-4 positions. All three are extremely prolific scorers coming off of all-conference caliber seasons.

I believe Ana will be the first guard off the bench and will play starters minutes if she is healthy and stays out of foul trouble -- both of which are two big ifs for her. I hope she's able to play a full season with a ton of minutes. She deserves it, and this team will be better with her.

I think Tot will start at point, at least at the beginning of the season. She was thrown into the fire in a major way last year, and she really shined at times.

I'd guess that Scott starts at the 5 position, as well.

Some thoughts on how our players make sense for a Jennie B team. Watching some Drake highlights and based on Drake leading the country in assists Jennie's offense is based on spacing, ball/player movement, off ball screens and cuts/drives to the bucket...the purpose of the offense is to get an open 3 point shot or an open shot in the lane. In some interviews when she was hired Jennie also said it is important in her offense that all 5 players can score and make open shots.

- so I think Jennie will want a dedicated PG that is focused on running the offense and getting assists...so a guess that Tot and Kelbie will split that role
- 3 point shots are important in the Jennie offense so Taylor and Gabby should be important to that...Skylar Vann and Kaley Perkins should be good backups for the wings
- Madi is the best player we have to get the cuts/drive to the baskets shots and also get open shots in the lane. I am also sure she will have continued to work on her 3 point shot. For a guess at something different I will suggest that Ana could be a good backup here as her game is suited to cuts/drives to the basket. Also Bre'yon White has a similar game that just needs development as a freshman
- Jennie also wants a center that can get baskets with one on one post moves. Here we don't have any proven options...I think Liz Scott is most likely candidate but her injury history and foul prone defense make you wonder. I am sure Lampkin and Svboda will both get a shot. If we struggle here we could go small like last year and give more minutes to the backup guards/forwards.
- We also have Kennady Tucker as a transfer guard...I am sure the coaches think she can help in some way to get her to transfer...but without having seen her I don't know how she will contribute.

Defense of course will matter in the playing time decisions...but with there being so little individual defensive statistics I don't know how to comment on who will do what. I do know we need to improve a lot on defense from the last 3 years and we need to become a much better defensive rebounding team.
