It was a rumor from TOS that was based on a friend of a friend that said Johnson had been booked and arrested on DUI & possession charges. As far as I know, it was never confirmed and no one could verify it on the Cleveland County site. Even if true, there were no details of the incident to define if it was actual PC and driving or nothing at all.

Wherever this is smoke there is usually fire, but this has appeared to fizzle out into nothing much at all. As of this moment.

Our shot with Obanor really begins with if Big Rick stays or not. If KT and Gordon has already started dripping on him, maybe that’s a sign Issanza is going to leave for sure.

Actually, once a player chooses to enter the portal, the “current” school does NOT have to guarantee his spot at that point. In this case, Rick may very well be leaning on staying at OU…but if OU could land Obanor, then Rick would be SOL.

I doubt we get Obanor, but this is the risk these kids (1500+ of them) take when entering the portal like it’s some frickin dating app.

Big Rick entered the portal. It is no longer his choice to stay.


Once you enter the portal your scholarship is no longer guaranteed


I have been told that OU would tell him to move on if the right transfer came available

And Obanor fits that bill

Correct, I didn't mean in my post that it was Rick's choice to stay, just meant if he remains at OU. I know that OU doesn't have to guarantee his ship once he decides to enter the portal.

What I didn't know if OU would actually fill the ship and force his hand regardless if he changed his mind or not. From this post by Boulder, it sounds like they would if they can upgrade. As they should.

Like cvangild stated, these kids need to understand what their decisions mean by entering the portal. It isn't DoorDash where they just decide what they feel like for that day or moment.

Transfer Portal and NIL are all fun and games today, but my guess is the excitement of these two will wear off and it will revert a little bit away from the madhouse it has become this year once reality settles in for most.

Giving kids one free transfer & automatic sit out after that one should help some. The NCAA can’t give any waivers though.

So big Rick doesn’t get to choose if he stays or goes if we fill his scholly?
I doubt Obanor is coming here with the big transfers we’ve already taken …

I'm also very excited Abmas is back for another year to tear it up in the NCAA. He was a delight to watch this year and I wasn't excited for him to sit on an NBA bench.
 
It's pretty apparent OU has at least one guy on the roster that is either leaving or considering leaving since we are going after 2 transfers.

Info with the new staff is hard to come by. Wearily quiet out there in regards to the roster right now.

Money changes everything, even, I suspect, if it's not coming from the university. If you asked pro athletes if making millions upped the pressure on them to perform from the fans, I'm confident they'd say yes. Not that there isn't pressure at the major college level, but it'll only increase when they're making more than the average fan.

My point is this kid is telling all the fans to "keep it coming"...as in the begging him to come to their school. He wants to "feel the love"...just pointing out that hope he can handle the real criticism when he doesn't produce..it'll be 10 times worse.

C'mon man, it isn't that hard to see...unless ya haven't been around HS/college athletes.

On top of that, he put bama as a top 4 and they are not even recruiting him...LOL...what an idiot.
