Octo-Manning- Breanna Stewart?

If you said what would Breanna Stewart look like on the court if she was a 6'2 guard, how similar would she look to Octo-Manning? Or vice versa, if Octo-Manning was a 6'4 post, she would look just like Breanna Stewart. The way they move is almost Identical, does anyone else see that? I watch Oklahoma and say that looks like Breanna Stewart.

Obviously, Maddie is not Breanna Stewart yet. But oddly similar in the way they move.

Very good comparison! If Maddie hadn't blown out 2 knees I think they'd even be more similar!

Octo-Manning. I love it.

The Manning/Stewart comparison is one that I have been making for two years now. I was absolutely astonished by the potential that I saw in Hawaii during her freshman year. I think she had more upside than Stewart. I don't know if the injury has reduced her potential or not just yet.

I think rocjunkie and I had another comparison that might be more accurate. Magic Johnson played point guard. But, he also played center in a playoff game in which Alcindor was injured. He could play any position. Sherri called Maddie her 1-4, for some reason leaving out the post. Indeed, she might get into trouble playing against today's posts. But, she can get high enough to play post, and dribble sufficiently to play point. She, I think we'll find, can shoot as well as a shooting guard. I think that if she returns, she may actually have more versatility than Stewart.

It will be entertaining to see how she, Gioya, Gabbi, and Peyton fit together over the next two years ---- after this one.

lol That name might stick, nice work Sybarite. a log jam of guards, but a good problem to have. I think Octo-Manning could be THE best player in the country someday. Needs to hit the weights this off-season and stay healthy. Despite the knees, I really don't see any lack of athleticism or her being hampered by it. Which means she's not, and I think she's every bit as athletic as she ever was... She has to learn to be more aggressive I think, which she is growing. But Im glad Im not the only one that watches my Sooners and is blown away by her abiility. This team has Natty Title Potential. Lord, please let us stay healthy.

It is difficult to compare Octo with Brianna - they are physically so different. Mattie has always reminded me of Stacy Dales - the way she glides over the floor and her passes are things of beauty - like artwork, her long arms, her basketball smarts. Mattie and mates can take us to the Promised Land just like Stacy did.

Better comparison, IMO. I also see shades of Dales when I watch Maddie play.
