Ijeoma Odimgbe is in the OU directory which for football/men's hoops has
always meant enrolled/qualified.
Just checking, although I cannot personally ever recall Sherri signing
someone who did not qualify.
An amazing stat over 20 years.
Have not seen any twitter traffic that she is in Norman yet.
Or an ETA either.
Any one have better info?

Good morning i'm new to this group, my name is Coach Raheem, I was Ijeoma Odimgbe's travel coach for four years, She enrolled at OU June 8, 2015. She has already started practicing with the team and doing individual workouts. We talk about twice a week. She's happy to be at OU.

Please tell us what type of player we can expect to see. What are her strengths? What does she need to work on? Thank!

Thank you! We're happy she's at OU too! :)

She is a very strong, aggressive player that can use use both hands equally. Great leaper, rebounder, and shot blocker. I think she may play some 4-Power forward and 5-center. Weaknesses: needs to be a better ball handler, Learn to defend the post (at a college level), and get a nasty attitude in the post all the time and not periodically. She's a Beast that runs the floor like a point guard.

I think one weakness we have right now is a PF who can rebound both ends of the court and bring some toughness to the the team. We tend to be more finesse and don't have enough enforcers. I hope she can fill that void.

Amen. Welcome to the board, Coach. Please comment regularly.
We are in perpetual need of a rebounder and havent had a really good one for a while. With the women's game getting more and more physical, a player who brings her own physical game and doesnt hold back when the going gets rough is in demand-especially on a typical Sherri Coale team.

RONBROWN,
thanks so much for posting the update on Ijeoma Odimgbe.
Very glad to hear that she's already in Norman.
and thanks for the insight and feedback into her developing basketball game.

I think she's going to be a great addition to the Sooners.

Coach, see if you can get some additional information from EJ. We get so little information about the team , practices , individuals that it's pitiful. The official website doesnt do much in the off season regarding women's basketball or softball.

Ej is working out with the team everyday. The coaches want her to play some power forward and center. She's gonna be a great rebounder, and shot blocker. She can score with either hand. She's probably the best leaper on the team.

That's music to my ears. In this day and time, players who can't jump are limited against good competition.

This's music to my ears to we lack a Player that can rebound out of her area. The last player we had they can do that was Amanda.

I'd also like to welcome you to our board, RONBROWN. We may not always agree around these parts, but we're pretty much all loyal Sooner fans who love our Sooner women's basketball.

I also agree with several others who are hopeful that the addition of Odimgbe will upgrade our rebounding. Looking forward to getting my first look at her on the floor and in a Sooner uniform.
