Guys, I need some help. I value your input knowing that the posters on this board are serious hoops fans, and this is a slow season for OU basketball news right now. Our son, DIL, and their 2 boys are moving to the OKC area on the 16th of May. Both parents have a heck of a job opportunity for an OKC based company, and were hired away from their current jobs in Houston. They haven't even had time to start looking for a house but they know it will be in Edmond, but have no idea where.

The problem is they're pulling their boys from their friends and sports, and have a whole summer facing them with no local friends. The boys are 10 (4th grade) and 6 (kindergarten). Both had birthdays in January if age cutoffs are important.

My oldest grandson plays on a very competitive AAU basketball team. Maybe the top pre-HS basketball club in the Houston area. Here's where I need help: Are there any summer basketball leagues or traveling teams for his general age group in the Edmond or north OKC area? Any advice? He's OK with playing up an age bracket if necessary.

I know better than to ask about basketball leagues for kindergarten kids, but the youngest is playing on a select coach-pitch team for 6 year-olds. Any advice there? No way he wants to play T-ball but would be OK with machine pitch.

The goal for both boys is to get them involved with some kids their age that live in the vicinity. That's probably more important than the competition level. I appreciate any and all comments or advice. Thanks in advance for your help.

If the Bball player is elite. Ok wizards are one of the better Aau programs in the state. I think they go down that low.
Google their website

I looked up the OK Wizards and their lowest team is 15 & under, so that won't work. Honestly, I wouldn't say my grandson is an elite player either. He's better than 95% of kids who typically play in YMCA leagues but that doesn't make him elite.

I appreciate your information though.
