The thing I have noticed this year is the officials are controlling the game to the point that the players can not get into any kind of flow. I'm not talking just about this game but almost every game I have watch.

I don't know if it has been worst in the women's game more than the men's but something needs to be done before next season. Fans do not pay to watch officials and neither do tv networks. There are way to many fouls being called, I have seen several games this year where close to 50 fouls have been called and way to many players being sent to the bench.

Give some thoughts

I think you have to break it down further rather than just saying there are too many fouls. Sherri said at the beginning of the year it would be ugly basketball before the players adjusted to the new rules. Some have adjusted and some have not. If you notice, it is almost always the same players committing the most fouls. Start with Sharane, Gioya, and Kaylon. They foul a lot. I don't blame the refs. I blame the players who don't play smart. When I watch T'ona, I see a player who defends very well for her experience level. She seldom ever commits a foul. If she can do it, the other more experienced players should be able to play good defense without fouling as well.

I have to agree with this. The main problem is the officials is the inconsistency. They will call a touch foul, then let some one get hammered and no call. That is from half to half. That is the real problem I have on officiating.

Our kids have to learn to move their feet and watch their hands. T'ona does a nice job as does Derica. Kornet is good, but she has a tendency to over react and makes stupid fouls. Sharane, Kaylon, and Gioya do to much slapping at the ball instead of holding their position and staying straight up. But a lot of kids have the same problem. Hopefully the kids coming back next year will work on their foot work and positioning and learn to play by the new rules, and maybe, (its a big maybe), the officials can start calling more consistent calls, but I doubt it.
