I didn't hear the call, so I wonder how someone justifies or sets up the call. Did he claim he had some breaking news, did he act like he was about to tell a really funny story? I'm not psychology buff, but I just can't imagine what's going through this guys head when he picks up the phone.
I almost hate to pile on the poor guy at this point, but since you ask, he did seem to think he was telling a funny story. I can't remember for certain, but I'm pretty sure that at the beginning of the call he even asked Mark Rodgers if he had heard about his "twitter war" with Willie Warren, as if anyone would have known in advance about some rando's tweet fight with a college kid.
He seemed genuinely taken aback when Rodgers said that Willie had gotten him good, as if the thought had never occurred to him that people would enjoy a player one-upping a fan who was harassing him on twitter. He talked about how it was "his right" as a fan to, I don't know, lecture the players, I guess.
I hope someone else heard it because the details are hazy in my memory, I almost drove off the road when I heard him.
