Hopefully the Whorns can beat BYU for Big 12 credibility.

I hate to say it but UT looked pretty good last night against BYU. Last year at this time they looked like a disaster, losing to Chaminade I think? And last year we split with them(Yes I know we should have won in Austin but scoreboard). Alot of people have chalked them up to being a sweep for us. Well, I don't think so. If they continue to get better, they are going to be a force. Holmes looked great. Their new guards are getting better and their short tubby PG from last year was hitting everything. Ibeh has next to no offensive skill(dunk only) but he and the other neanderthal fat guy post were commanding the paint. I'm hoping that it was an outlier good performance against a good BYU team but they certainly look like they are improving, and look like they'll be a tough matchup for OU...

Agree 100%. I thought BYU would handle them fairly easily, but you can make the argument that they are every bit as good as BYU. They seem to play more as a team this year. They still make some careless mistakes and are loose with the ball, but I think you can chalk a lot of that up to youth. Their big men can rebound and block shots. And they have a few guys that can make shots from the outside. And they are long and athletic. This won't be the cakewalk that some are suggesting.

I admittedly laugh when I see Texas look bad, but I do feel bad for Tech. They just can't seem to do anything right

If Texas has a good season, Barnes should be coach of the year in the Big XII. That will not likely happen because KU and OSU will be very strong so even if Texas does well Self or Ford will likely win coach of the year but I think it is much better job to get Texas playing well than either OSU or KU.
