He is good. Wish he would be more assertive all the time. He needs to touch it more in the paint.

Grooms needs to shoot less. Pledger more.

Can we please pick up the rebounding and stop allowing second chances

Scored 11 of his 15 tonight in the final four minutes. Also grabbed eight boards and blocked five shots. He indeed brought it.

Yeah but most of those were by free throws. I just wish he got the ball more down low and dominated the whole game

I too wish he would dominate the entire game. Every game. Romero, please get on that.

When he really asserts himself it's pretty hard to stop him. That play where he was doubled (nearly tripled) and split the defenders by muscling through them for the dunk was very impressive. You could see he was getting riled up a few series before that when Tech kept shoving and slapping at him on the defensive end. The result was him unleashing that anger in that move. Need to see more of that kind of determination to punish people on the offensive end.

The biggest problem with this is that to often Fitz will get the ball and then jack up a shot regardless of how many people are around him. I think this sets a bad tone for the team because it seems like other players like Cam and Pledger start doing the same thing. To often last night there would be one pass and then a shot would go up. It seemed to make the offense stagnant because a pass would be made and then there would be no movement away from the ball as if they were expecting a shot to go up.

osby needs to shoot 10-15 times a game ... he is our best one on one player .. he can shoot and he can drive/post ... he just needs to be agressive

Cam needs to attack the rim he is very good when he gets to the paint

if those 2 do that then pledge and fitz will get better looks and we know that they will score if they are open ..

Nailed it! For those who want to know why Osby doesn't get the ball more, here's your answer.

Drew is OU's first option in the post, and rightly so. The problem is, he rarely looks to pass the ball, even when he's double or triple teamed. He makes some of the difficult shots he takes. But I have said for sometime that he would get better shots if he passed the ball back out more and then reset to receive it again.

Likewise, if he looked to pass the ball to Romero more often, I believe he would find a defensive shift that could result in a better shot from the other side than those he takes from time to time. The problem now is that Ro knows the ball is not likely to come his way, so he moves to rebound Fitz's misses, not to get position for his shot. The majority of the shots he gets are in a cleanup role.

Don't get me wrong, Fitz has played great the past few games. I just believe he could be better if he passed the ball more and took fewer ill-advised shots when defenses collapse on him.

I wish both bigs would spend more time inside. They showed against KSU how effective they can be inside when they get the ball and a little space. Both are solid shooters, but they are limited in what percentage of jumpers they are going to hit. Inside, that percentage goes up.

Reminds me of a first year Ace McGee. Up and down, but constantly showing promise. I predict Ro will have a big, big, big senior year.

I agree. OU is going to have a really nice front line next year.

I would also like to see Osby and Fitzgerald work better together. You don't see them pass to each other very often. In my opinion they are the two most consistent scorers on the team. If they would look for each other on the double teams, I think they would be even more effective. If the defense somehow recovers and doubles the next big, a 3 point shot should be wide open.

Not to harp on the same issue but I'd be happy just seeing Fitz pass the ball period. If he didn't get into foul trouble last night he probably would have taken 20 or more shots.

I think the point is that if he passed a bit more, he'd have better shot opportunities and that percentage could go up.

Thank you! That is precisely the point myself and others tried to make.

Yep, that's the one. Thought it was a fantastic play as well, and one I'd like to see more often. Also loved that he had 5 blocks that game.

Miss. State has to be kicking themselves for letting him go. Though they're 15-3, all 3 losses could've gone the other way had Osby still been with them.
