Up by 22 in second half... And Charlotte banks a 3 for the win.

Hysterical.

Its a game of runs.

Oklahoma State gave up a 32-10 run in the final nine minutes of play. Charlotte's Jon Davis banked in a game-winning 3-pointer with .6 seconds remaining to defeat OSU. He led the game in scoring with 27 points.

“We played like a fairly immature team,” said coach Boynton. “We got a big lead, kind of relaxed and that’s what happens. It’s hard to win on the road, it was obviously a concern of mine coming in here with playing six freshmen and no seniors and being fairly light, but there’s no excuses. We got beat and we have to go back and watch the film, figure out where was the breakdowns. What were those things that maybe could’ve extended the lead from 24 to 28 that then made it 12 and five and then ultimately losing.”

The Cowboys grabbed the lead midway through the first half when they went on a 25-2 run, which started at the 8:47 mark of the first half and lasted until there was 1:56 remaining in the opening half of play.

I guess you would of had to be there.....but the wire reports had this:

Davis led the 49ers with 27 points, including five of those in the final 4.2 seconds after the Cowboys were called for a flagrant foul while trying to foul the 49ers instead of allowing a potential game-tying 3-pointer.

So they get called for a flagrant foul, the guy makes two free throws, gets the inbound pass and banks in a three pointer from the top of the key....

Tough way to lose!

Isn’t every foul late an intentional foul? Either trying to prevent a 3 or trying to lengthen the game for a chance to win?

I didn’t see the game but unless it was a ridiculously hard foul, seems BS to call intentional foul when every team “intends” to foul in that situation.

I hear their fan base is too busy relishing their big moral victory in football to care about this.

Intentional and flagrant aren't the same thing. It might seem like semantics but they are two different things. Flagrants are called if you make absolutely no play on the ball and make excessive contact with the player. I didn't see the play in the OSU game but I'm sure it wasn't just a typical reach in, no way any ref would call that flagrant.

agree. anyone have video?

That looks like a terrible call to you? Waters made no play on the ball whatsoever, just grabbing the guy by his arms. He practically bear-hugged the guy.

And...refs are on the take? Ok.:facepalm

that is an atrocious call. you see worse fouls than that several times a game...especially down low or on fast break plays

Here is the rule BTW.

involves excessive or severe contact during a live ball, including especially when a player "swings an elbow and makes illegal, non-excessive contact with an opponent above the shoulders". This offense includes the former "intentional foul" of fouling an opposing player to prevent an easy breakaway score.

Horrible call. College basketball has already been ruined with all of these constant foul calls and needlessly making the game more and more complicated for the players to even understand the rules. Terrible terrible call. That's exactly how i would instruct my defenders to foul in that situation. Flagrant??? Lol wow. What a joke

I could see it as an intentional foul, and if that rule has been folded into the flagrant category, I think it's a reasonable call (though I'll admit that I might not take it so calmly if it had been called against OU).

In general, I think intentional fouls should be called more often late in games. You should have to make a legitimate defensive play to avoid them.

Keep in mind OSU didn't have their best player, Michael Weathers, due to suspension... Also didn't have Indiana transfer Curtis Jones, who was a top 75 player in high school who isn't eligible yet.. Also didn't have USC Upstate transfer Mike Cunningham.

They were down at least two starters... This would be like OU playing without Aaron Calixte, Rashard Odomes, and Christian James in a game this year.

That's the thing though, he actually did make a defensive play. I do not think it was as obvious as just grabbing a guys arm or bear hugging him. Yes, it was obviously intentional...but this happens in every close bball game!

This... you will see that exact same thing in every close game. It was a trash call.
