Osu loses to Charlotte lulz

That's the thing though, he actually did make a defensive play. I do not think it was as obvious as just grabbing a guys arm or bear hugging him. Yes, it was obviously intentional...but this happens in every close bball game!

Agreed. That was a weak call you wouldn’t expect to see, especially in the home team’s arena.

It might have been obvious that OSU wanted to put him on the free throw line, but Waters made a legitimate attempt to steal the ball. We have seen numerous attempts just like that when the intent was not to put the offensive player on the line. I would have been some kind of upset if I had been in Boyntin’s shoes.

I saw no defensive move -- it looked like he just whacked him with his arm to draw the whistle -- but I only watched it once and on a small screen.

This goes completely against my philosophy in sports (constant rule changes), but they need to completely get rid of the intentional foul rule. You wanna foul? Sure, go for it. Might need to counter with some other rule to prevent every game being a hack a shaq contest.. but then again, if you can't hit FTs maybe you should be on the court at your peril if the other team wants to deploy that strategy
