OU at Tech 7pm 1/11

We better win this game, but you never know after an upset some teams slump. Last year we slumped and let them beat us at HOME, but this year they don't have veterans like Vivian Gray and Thomas leading them. Plus they lost Embry via portal. They have a really decent freshman in Maupin, and McKinney is a hot shooter for them, so if we can keep them contained I don't see us losing. Mostly we just have to focus on ourselves and playing within ourselves and not turning the ball over, and playing like a team. I say we win by 10. If we lose we'll have a tough road ahead of us!

Always tough to win on the road in the Big 12. But critical to conference success is a win in each of the next 4 games (@Tech, Kansas, @TCU and OSU). Win the next 4 and we have 3 conference road wins for the season.

Agree, Spock.

Like a previous post stated, we should beat Tech, but nothing's guaranteed when you go on the road in our conference. I do believe we'll win, however, if we don't suffer a letdown after that big win over ISU.

Anybody else having trouble with ESPN plus being so dark you can hardly see it? Needs some brightness

I have a normal picture. Not an issue for me.

Down 42-38 at half. Difference is letting Tech shoot 50% from the field. We shot 36% and missed several easy shots at the basket. Didn’t think we communicated very well in our zone leading to open shots for Tech. Madi with 2 quick fouls limiting her minutes. Great job on the boards has kept us close. We need to up our concentration in the 2nd half.

No problem with my ESPN+ picture.

We seemed to be completely unfocused in the first half. Energy and focus were better in the second half.

89-79 win. Really came on in the 4th quarter to win. 22 for Ana and 17 for Skylar to lead us. Rebounding was again key for us..46-26 lead on the boards with +13 offensive rebound margin. We ended up winning by a comfortable margin in spite of Tech going 11-20 from 3.

A building block game. Maddie a lot of time on the bench. Taylor held to 1 three. Vann was a Godsend and Ana….? She’s just plain wonderful and I am so happy for her!

In some ways, this game was similar to the men's game against KU last night. Even though the game was close throughout and TT had the lead for part of the game, the OU women knew they would find a way to win it in the end, just as the KU men did.

I am wondering if the more fast paced offense is less well suited to Madi. She did better tonight though than the previous game. 13 points with 60% on field goals, 4 assists and 6 rebounds in 22 minutes. She has been instrumental in every game. It would be very difficult to have the kind of season we hope for without her.

We will have another tough game Saturday, against Kansas. In the 2nd half we kept answering every time the scored, except once when they got hot and hit a couple of threes. But then we kept playing good defense and offense an built the lead back.

It was good that we hung in there a lot of the game without having to depend on threes. We had several easy baskets where we had passes to different players who were one on one under the basket and we made the play.

It sure is fun watching this team this year. I figure we probably lose to ISU in Ames and then perhaps beat them in the conference playoffs.

Interesting that OSU beat Balyor in Waco.

I think the main problem for Madi the last few games is that she has limited herself by committing some silly fouls. She can't get into the flow of the game if she is sitting in the bench with foul trouble.

True but a 5th year senior should not repeatedly be making those silly fouls. She might need to get her head into the game more so. JMHO. But hopefully she has learned from her pine time.

Taylor actually hit a couple of threes, but both of them came late. Tech defended her pretty well for most of the game. Ana's play just continues to be phenomenal.

It seems to me with the pressure opponents are placing on TRob having the Sooner transition game in high gear is the key to getting TRob open looks BTA as we have seen Jennie is not going to set screens for TRob to get free.

She also hasn't really improved her ball handling skills since her freshman year. Every time I see her bring the ball down the court I'm on pins & needles hoping she doesn't walk...it's small things like this that I think has kept her from being an AA and getting more recognition. Also, not to be negative but I don't see TRob having improved a whole lot either, she's been a great shooter since day one, and everything else is virtually the same. She's not the best natural athlete so I think that has held her back a lot. This year she doesn't seem to be trying to create as much offensively, which made me wonder if she was injured for a time. Still hope she breaks the record and gets drafted! I believe Ana could get drafted as well if she keeps her level this high...she's playing now how she played about 3 years back and I'm loving every minute!

On another note, does anyone know how incoming freshman Sierra Williams compares to Madi? They seem very similar to me...I have a feeling Sierra could be better though.

I see players set screens for TRob all the time. We just don't really run set plays like some teams do.
