Also, on the topic of college GMs, why has OU not tried to poach a front office person from the Thunder to come do so? Feels like that should be an easy sell. The Thunder are widely considered to have one of the best front offices in the business, we are seeing tons of NBA front office personnel taking college GM jobs right now, and you don't likely even have to pay for a relocation package.

Just hire best talent available, Thunder seem good obviously. Bigger concern is why we are still waiting on a GM, like SB mentioned not mind numbingly easy for fans donate with the announcement. But good news with Young.

I'll be honest, I haven't given much thought to WHO should be the GM....just that they need one. That would be a deep dive.

While Trae being assistant GM is great, the GM will be more involved in day to day operations.

I hope OU isn't waiting to hire a GM before focusing on the portal, and this means they have one hired.

**** Kellen Buffington is 2 years in as a GM at Tech. He was a middle school teacher turned basketball tournament director in the Dallas Texas area. He’s done an excellent job at Tech. So much so that they’re hiring him at Miami.

Ray Forsett, the former basketball coach for Grace Prep was hired by Deion Sanders. An odd hire as a former basketball coach, but Forsett worked with Deion at his former high school Prime Prep. He as well has been outstanding.

2 years of schools doing this is more than a second wise guy…..
