We are virtually a perimeter team. The 88 team had Stacey King and Harvey Grant. Harvey Grant was unstoppable within 6 feet of the basket. Unless Lattin develop a post game, we can't win just by perimeter game alone.
I hope Kruger show the team game tape of 88 team and also of Wayman Tisdale. If our bigs can develop post game, we are virtually unstoppable. Our players played their heart out, kudos to them.

100% correct.

Lattin is a year away from being more productive and confident. Too bad he wasn't a year ahead this season with this starting group.

Cousins made it hard for anybody to get their game going with his horrid scoring night.

We're not going to develop it much more during this year. We are what we are.

Inside scoring is not our strength, but I think this team has shown it has the ability to accomplish as much as anyone else in the country.

Our starting post production vs. KU's.

Lattin/Spangler: 24 pts/32 boards/8 blocks/3 steals

Ellis/Mickelson: 29 pts/16 boards/1 block

Add in KU subs Lucas and Traylor for another 13 pts/12 boards/4 blocks/2 steals

Our starting post game is as good as KU's and Lattin is only getting better. We just aren't as deep as we need to be. KU's depth wore us down over three overtimes.

Thanks for posting this. We have some issues guarding real good bigs right now on the block but these guys are plenty productive. People need to get an understanding of what we have at our post positions. They are what they are. Nobody's learning a sky hook in the next 3 months. Nobody's turning into Kevin McHale on the block before March. Not happening but the guys we have are dudes. They fought and scrapped all night and produced against more talented front court personnel. I'm proud as hell of our bigs and I'm tired of hearing people talk em down. Ryan is producing at an all conference clip and Lattin is toughening up on the boards and provided excellent rim protection. We need Buford and Manyang to step up and be more consistent but we have enough up front.

OU is a perimeter team like most college teams, but you can still get looks at the basket.

How?

If your perimeter players are forcing defenders to on them, then that open lanes for attacking the basket as well as easy dishes to post guys.

Cousins wasn't forcing a defender on his body most of the night. He was giving open looks from the three while on defense. With all that OU still almost won the game.

Fix Cousin's game on both sides of the court and OU will have more post points.
