Ou - byu

seems like a couple of our sophomores are dealing with a bit of a sophomore slump but I don't believe it will continue for but a few games

Very little help from anyone other than Maddie, Peyton, and Kay Kay: 33 of 40. Needed fewer turnovers. Kind of went flat a bit at the end. Couple of bad shot selections. LaNesia has to quit driving inside and getting trapped.

Good movement. I thought for a while that BYU wouldn't miss.

McKenna has her cast with small wrap over the hand and dressed out with team and shooting with team. Good to see!

I'm pretty upset that, as a premium subscriber to Soonersports.tv, I only have access to live radio for these games. I live in Big Ten country and don't receive the Oklahoma-local regional channels. I'm sure it has something to with an agreement with FOX, but I thought a subscription to soonersports would give me access to watch the SSTV games.

You will be able to see it tomorrow on SSTV. I think some games you may be able to see live.

It makes a huge difference when shots are falling and you play defense. Great job!

I watched it on Sox Sports North! From Naples, FL!

It helps if someone does something to give you a lead rather than give the other team the lead. Shaya listed among the leaders? Surprising. She did well. Shaya, Maddie, and Gabbi mentioned as the leaders.

I must be missing something. Sherri likes the play of Edwards and Shaya. I'm still trying to figure out what she sees that isn't apparent to me.

I suspect that Sherri may be looking for reserves that can come into the game and play adequate defense so that they won't give up six straight points. Often, it is easier to find a bench that can hold a lead than it is to find one that can increase it. Shaya and T'Ona may fall into that category, rest without losing leads.

Knee jerk reactions from 1st half (only got to see the 1st half)

1. Manning flashing "it". Dominating the game in the same manner Hield showed against Memphis.
2. Derica's game sure looks different when her 3 shot is falling.
3. Ortiz still seems off. ?? Strange.
4. Nice rebound effort energy wise, everything looks better when the 3s are falling for everyone.
5. Still missing that role Gioya was providing.

Above are the stats for the three games in Hawaii that Maddie started as a true freshman before tearing her ACL. Notice that she averaged 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 steals as a true freshman. She also shot 68.4% from the field, 1000% from behind the arc, and 75% from the line. She has always had it in her. She was as green as you get. But, she could do it all as a freshman guard.
