**********OU-Gonzaga Pregame Notes/Game Thread**********

I'm saying OU will improve more than a lot of teams. They're playing 3 true freshmen and a transfer who sat out a year in the top 8 player rotation. Experienced teams like Gonzaga will improve, too, but probably not as much IMHO.

The three freshmen will get better but I'm not sure how their ceiling is for THIS year. These aren't Kentucky freshmen. Not to mention we have four returning starters, so the experience is there.

I really don't want us to fail. I want the best players out there and Fitzgerald coming off the bench is killing this team. I wish M'Baye was this great player..but I saw him play at Wyoming and I knew that he wasn't going to be. This 5 on and 5 off wasn't good for this squad.

We,, I can understand that. Many of us who keep realistic expectations knew the kid was not LaBron. Like I said earlier, you can't take fan's reports to the betting line with you.

Look at Osby, he is still settling in, IMO. He is a very good player, but not near the player we were led to believe. M'Baye will get better. Anyone who expected him to be a one & done player was probably drinking the kool aid.

It's still very early, and I believe the young guns playing now will benefit us later. I do agree about Fitz though. I would like to see him start because I think it would help him mentally, though he has kept a good attitude thus far.

What did you expect? The best predictions I saw from anybody were a bubble team, or a low, low end NCAA Tournament team. Of course this season is going to be tough. We may not play 5 games this season against teams as tough as we're facing tonight. And experienced, deep, well-coached, ranked team. You expected to win or something?

Never expected to win, but I expected us to have some sort of offensive identity, and keep the score respectable. Honestly, I have no idea what we're trying to do out there.

I think an NCAA tournament bid is a pipe dream.

Annnd the Clippers lost to BKN. Bad night for basketball in the BigTime household.

I hope they get a lot better as the game slows down for them. Point Guard is the most difficult position to play. They have to run the offense, and make the passes at the right time, get back on transition, etc.

Kruger is giving Cousins and Hornbeak a lot of minutes. If they can't improve from the opportunity, then Grooms will take some of those minutes in Big 12 play.

I really like Heild but he has to learn when to play more under control.
