Does anyone have any insight on this? Is he worth it? What are OU's chances? Etc.

A&M lost the most starters, so they probably provide the best chance to start and have the most available minutes. Plus he's from Houston. He really seemed to like Syracuse and it sounds like they were first with an offer. We probably have the most talented roster and I think we give him the best chance at winning and having success in the post season.

I think he's worth it. It looks like the plan is for Wood to stay on the wing, so the sell for him is a good opportunity to start as a lead guard.

We're in his final 3 and it looks like we might get the last visit. I like our chances...

Lon knows whats going on, so there is a reason to add another player at PG when most of us don't see the need. My best guess is more internal competition is a good thing.

I don't believe in OU's situation they waste a scholarship on a 5th year guy unless they believe he's going to start.

There is nothing to lose adding a grad transfer, imo.

The scholarship wasn't being used anyway. If he pans out, great, if not, it doesn't affect anything going forward.

Playing two point guards has its advantages at times as we saw this past year.

Exactly right. He can make us better.

but how is it wasting a scholarship. If we aren't going to use it, we are losing anything.

It will be available again after next year

Because if you bring in a 5th year guy who isn't going to play a lot then it has little value. He will take away reps from the younger guys, could mess with the team chemistry, and if he doesn't play much with this being his last year and started at CSU I doubt he'll be very happy. We could definitely lose something.

Now if he comes in and starts or plays 6th man minutes then I'm all for it, and I believe this is the only reason they are offering him. It makes no sense otherwise.

call me crazy then because I'd sign 5th year major and mid-major D1 starters with great proclivity. It's just a year and you have a seasoned player who is gonna add something. Great support material.

Had me all the way until you used the word proclivity, then I went scurrying for my thesaurus and forgot if I agreed with your point :ez-roll:
