It was 2005. Soonerstats.com is a great website. If you know of one like it for OSU, I would like the link.
I don't think we have anything like that.
Thanks for the link... I was just looking over the games of the Sutton/Sampson era of Bedlam basketball... those truly were the golden age of the rivalry.
Check this out - in the years from the 1994-95 season through the 2005-06 season, the longest stretch of games between the two teams that neither was ranked was 6 games, from the first meeting in the 1995-96 season through the last meeting in the 1997-98 season.
There was one other 2-game stretch in the 1999 season when neither team was ranked, but outside of those 8 games, at least one team was ranked.
So in the Sutton/Sampson era, which spanned 26 games over 12 seasons, one of us was ranked in 18 of the 26 (69%) games. Both teams were ranked in 10 of the 26 games (38%).
Contrast that to the fact that last year's game in Stillwater broke a streak of 8 consecutive games where neither team was ranked, dating back to the Big 12 tournament game in OKC during the 2009 season.
Since the Sutton/Sampson era ended, there have been 16 games. One of the two teams has been ranked in 6 of them (38%) and tonight will be the first where we are both ranked, so that stands at 0% until tonight.
So those numbers will rise to 41% of "at least one ranked" and 6% of "both ranked in the post-Sutton/Sampson era after tonight.
