*******OU-Southeastern Louisiana Game Thread*******

I can't see the game. We flew to Cozumel this morning. Just checking in to see how they're doing.

I didn't know you had a mean streak. :)

You're in Cozumel basking in the sun, while the rest of us are huddled under a blanket trying to keep from freezing to death. It is some kind of cold here!

When Buddy can get finishing at the rim down, it's over for defenses.

would like to see better defense, hate giving up 40 point halves..signs of bad memories last year

Bennett is going to play even less than last year when we get into conference play.

Lattin has looked good for a freshman. Thomas will be good too. Bennett is a good 4th post to have though. He'll be lucky to get 8 minutes a game this year though.

Sloppy 2nd half but things look great overall

Umm no. Things don't look great overall....yet. It's going to take time to work in Thomas and establish his offensive identity. This team still settles for too many 3s and jumpshots. I would like to see more drives to the basket as well as getting our inside game a little more involved now that we have a true "back-to-the-basket" threat.

Defense looks to be better this year, but the bar was pretty low last year as our defense was around average according to the metrics. Energy was great in the first half, but the intensity has dropped off significantly.

It's a nice start to the season, but we have work to do in several areas in order to get to the next level and make some noise in March.

7-7 from 3 for Buddy Hield is a new OU record.

SELA is not any good obviously, but this was a solid performance to open the season. Need to get better. But there's a lot to like about this team. Spangler, Cousins, Hield all had solid games. Woodard was solid. 25 point win that was never close.

We shoot 38% and outrebound them by 3. We need to get the front court players more involved and they need to get better from here.

Man, that second half was frustrating to watch. I know it doesn't really matter -- the game was never remotely in doubt -- but hoo-boy, I hate seeing us lose our intensity that way. Poor rebounding, poor defense, low energy, poor finishing in the paint, poor shooting overall.

We have to get much better very quickly. We don't really have any early-season leeway this year. There are almost no patsies on our schedule. I kind of wish we'd stuck with our starters and key backups more in this game. We don't really have minutes to waste on walk-ons and deep-benchers this season.

Ya i don't get why were playing mankins in the first half and stuff
