**********OU vs Kansas Game Thread**********

We actually force them to shoot the ball further than 4 feet and they make a 3.

Well, it was fun while the fantasy lasted.
What a joke...

Meanwhile Roe misses a layup, and they get a dunk. Down by 11 now. Could get very ugly if we don't tighten it up. Come on Sooners!!

Pathetic. Lost our aggressiveness and they stepped theirs up.

We've given them confidence now.

We can't even get home court officiating. But I guess Kansas Big12 officiating over rides home court officiating.:facepalm

Unfortunately it seems like even when we don't turn it over (rare so far to start the half) they get a layup anyways.

W are playing so scared now. Totally different team.
I guess we didn't learn anything from our "learning experience" in Cinci.

Bad shots on O and even worse D. How's that for negative?

It's like they quit out there

THAT is what is upsetting.
Kansas is a better team than us, sure.
But this is the third straight year I've had to sit through OU teams just forgetting everything they've practiced and giving up in the middle of games.

What happened to Pledger this half? His passes are about the worst I have ever seen....

Right when I think we have the confidence to play basketball we prove that we don't.

Another sad part is this is the worst KU team I have seen in years.

I stopped watching. Can't take it anymore. Watching future OU players in AA game. :facepalm

OU needs a player that can create points and just doesn't have it

We need balance. Pledger is fine, he'd be a GREAT OU player on other OU teams, but he can't create his own shots. You stick him on the floor with Grooms, a guy that scares nobody offensively, and Cam, who in his current state is a below average player, and they simply key on Pledger, and we can't do anything about it.

I like Grooms. He is certainly better than Blair. That said, you cannot win again the good teams with pg's like Grooms, unless you are stacked everywhere else. We currently are not stacked.

And guard depth in general kills us. We don't have a single true guard on the bench. Not one. I'm guessing there may not be another team in the country that is in that position. Think about that.....how many D1 schools don't have a single 2/3 on the bench? We make do with a backup pg (Blair), and a guy that really doesn't have a position, but would be best as a small 4 (Neal).

I'm probably guilty of getting ahead of myself with this team, but it LOOKED like they were going to play the old Kelvin style that allowed less talented teams to overachieve. They probably aren't to that point yet. You can see the effort. You can see the coaching. But the toughness, the intensity 100% of the time, and the overall talent, just isn't there yet.
