OU vs. Texas

You really think Joe C is that dumb???

A VP was just fired in the last month for hiring his son-in-law without completing nepotism paperwork. One of Gallogly’s hires.

Joe has known who Colton is since he has been at OU. Your might need to get better sources. He may not have wanted her to hire him but he’s going to let the coaches run their programs and if a nepotism disclosure wasn’t completed, Colton, most definitely, and probably Sherri, wouldn’t be here now. Nice rumor.

Fool learn to understand what you read it would be a new skill for you. I noted that it was reported not my inside information. I did not declare it to be true or false. But when the media speaks it is noteworthy valid or not.

Was the "fool" necessary? Tycat knew the facts and knew that the original report from "it was reported" was gibberish. That is how the deliberate "lie blogs" and "tabloids" get their sources. It was reported may be a stranger in a bar. In some journalistic circles, they know better and wouldn't have reported it.

Reported by who? You usually quote your ‘inside sources’!

Maybe you should look in the mirror.

You figure it out I cannot recollect it has been 2-3 weeks since I read the info and I am not concerned with your needs. I generally do not share inside information on these boards but via PM's only. The information I normally source is nothing but factual data or articles providing data. Assume away that is your M.O.

I went back today and watched the game again. I wanted to see if what I saw at the LNC was what actually happened.

I could not believe Holmes was allowed to slug Simpson in the face with no kind of foul called. If slugging an opponent is still illegal, then this crew needs to be kicked out from officiating any more games - ever. If it is actually legal - which this crew apparently believes - we need to start using that now legal strategy. It seems almost guaranteed that the conference and NCAA will one day get their pants sued off if they don't start protecting players from serious injury. Not a foul to hit an opponent in the face - to the extent they must be helped off the court? Ridiculous.

Also, look at the moment with 1:25 left in the game. We have just pulled to within 8 points. Why in the world was it not a foul when Ana was absolutely knocked to the floor? Wait, I know - see next comment.

Finally, go back and watch the game and count the times fouls were called on each team when we got within 13 points, as opposed to when we were trailing by more than 13 or so. It is amazing.

In my opinion, SC should absolutely demand that Zentz never step on a court when we are playing.

Very slowly if at all. Last night was about as embarrassing as I've seen. No aggression. Lost match-after-match with inactivity, lack of confidence, uncertainty. Sometimes, just bull strength.

I guess I am comparing it to three years ago. They have beaten a ranked team and come within three points of a ranked team this year. I would say they are better than three years ago. Did the team win a match three years ago? I don't know and am not going to look. Anyway, you don't turn it around immediately. I know they got some recruits in last year that replaced starters whom I never saw do anything. And I liked the team before. Nothing against them. I liked the coach but do believe this one is a better recruiter and coach.
Do not know what happened with Lehigh. My understanding is that now there is a Big 12 conference for wrestling. They went out and found 12 teams. Anyway, not a big deal in my universe. I could be absolutely wrong. Just gave my opinion. You gave yours and it may be correct. I will check with my brothers and see what they say. NOT that their opinion matters either. NONE of this matters.

I do appreciate your feedback.

I don't know enough to have a strong opinion. This is the Big Twelve now: 2018 Conference championships

1. Oklahoma State 137
2. UNI 96.5
3. South Dakota State 94
4. Wyoming 82.5
5. North Dakota State 57
6. Oklahoma 52
7. Iowa State 51
8. Utah Valley 50.5
9. West Virginia 50
10. Northern Colorado 30.5
11. Fresno State 26.5
12. Air Force 22.

It is my understanding that an OU wrestler won the Big Twelve championship a couple of years ago, but did not qualify for the NCAA tournament. So, apparently it isn't automatic any more.

Results against conference opponents this year:
2 Oklahoma State 41
26 West Virginia 17
6 Iowa State 25
28 Northern Iowa 6

The ranked team that we beat? We wrestled Arizona State twice in Lock Haven, losing 12-22 and winning 21-19

Results for the year:

While a long time season ticketholder and not pleased with the results I have seen to date from Rosselli's extensive redshirt strategy I am not certain they need to retain the program. They are wrestling very weak teams seeking some wins for the kid's confidence without much success. Don't forget this is
Rosselli's third season and we are at least two more years away maybe several more.

Wrestling has changed it is a B1G sport as they have won the last 12 national championships preceded by Oklahoma State winning in 2003-2006. Okie State has only finished as a runnerup twice in the last 12 years. Penn State should win their 8th natty in the last 9 years Of the 27 Power 5 schools wrestling 14 of them are in the B1G. The top national talent come from B1G country.

Four different B1G schools have won the natty since a Big 12 school. OU is not losing to Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio State by big scores they are getting beat by Northen Iowa, ASU, ISU, Pittsburgh. There wins are over Old Dominion, Appalachian State, Lock Haven and West Virginia. OU is ions from being competitive with the big boys. Not exactly the performance you want to see from a team that has won 7 national championships.

Progress perhaps some. Last year they lost to WVU, Pittsburgh, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Utah Valley and Wyoming. Their wins were over the likes of Edinboro, Iowa State, Northern Colorado, Freson State, Lock Haven, Bucknell, Appalachian State and Sacred Heart.

Personally unless OU can get competitive with the lower to middle of the B1G schools within the next 3 years I would like to see the Sooners drop wrestling. Two wrestlers that wrestled from Port Robertson's (3 nattys, 3 runnerups and 2 thirds in the -50's) 1957 national championship team one of which was national champion that I spoke with at the Lehigh match Saturday made that suggestion to me. I concur.

Recap from the Associated Press...

NORMAN — Jatarie White scored 17 points, Joyner Holmes added 14 with 10 rebounds, and No. 12 Texas led the whole way in a 76-67 win over Oklahoma on Saturday.

Danni Williams added 13 points and Sug Sutton 10 with seven rebounds, six assists and four steals for the Longhorns (18-4, 8-2 Big 12 Conference).

Texas scored the first four points of the game, and a 7-0 spurt put the Longhorns on top 18-6 at the 3:24 mark of the first quarter. The lead got to 18 in the second quarter, which ended with Texas up 42-30.

A 12-4 run with Madi Williams scoring the first nine helped OU remain close, and her free throw late in the third quarter made it an eight-point game. Texas was only 3 of 8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter, which helped the Sooners cut the deficit to single figures with less than two minutes to go.
