OU Will Be Better Next Year....

There are 2,271 registered users on this board. Oh those, 1,275 are considered "active".

So when you have 638 "with" votes, then you have the majority.
Ahh, so I was right when I said the people who want him gone feel they are in the majority. Thanks.

But you don't care about Willie (with a no vote) so this poll doesn't interest you.

Considering the number of active voters, if you use sampling, you probably only need about 300 to vote to accurately predict the outcome.

Actually, a no vote simply means I don't think he'd come back "changed" enough to improve OU, on his own. Don't "care" about him? What a strange word to use.

Where is DSMok? You can do these type of statistical analyses problems in Excel.

My vote was with WW. In my opinion, it is not cool to slam a Sooner unless that Sooner has broken a serious law or really offended moral standards. Willie is a ****y guy which I think is a pretty good thing.

There is every reason to expect the team to get their act together next year. When I look back over my lifetime, I have grown a lot more mature and wise (at least in my opinion :)). But most have my growth has happened, not gradually, but in big jerks forward as life's events forced me to look at things differently. I think that is common for most people. Sometimes those events cause you to jerk backwards as well. But I think our guys are basically decent kids who will grow up and get better.

Good post.

My perspective on life had to change very drastically very early, so it's hard for me to get on a guy that may be maturing or hitting an epiphany at age 20. I do think nearly everyone here wishes him well whatever he decides. I also think if he decides to bolt he isn't making a very mature decision and will regret doing so down the line.

I have mixed feelings on this, so I did not vote.

What I would really like to know is this ... Deep down, for real, Does Coach Capel want Willie back next season? At this point, does he care one way or the other? None of us can know the true answer to this, but my guess is that Coach also has mixed emotions on this subject.

If Coach does not want him back, I'm sure Willie will get the message.

In any event, I agree with many that the team will be better next season, with or without.

The poll is about one factor. It's a hypothetical.

The problem with the poll is that it is about two factors. Whether or not Willie is going stay, and whether or not OU will be better. It is a little bit like the question "Do you still beat your wife?". If you answer no, it leaves the tacit implication that you did, at some point, beat your wife. If you answer this poll that WW stays and OU is better, it leaves the tacit implication that OU is better because he stayed, whereas if you answer the other choice, it leaves the tacit implication that OU is better because he left.

I know you worked pretty hard with this response, which is commendable, but I disagree.

I vote with WW. But that vote depends on issues.

If OU gets a post defender and rebounder.

If Gallon can be convinced his future is better served on the interior.

Fitz continuing to show the 10 footer, and losing a little weight to improve his quickness and defense.

I believe if these things happen that the "problem" of TMG and WW on the floor at the same time will work itself out. When your only real scoring threat is on the outside it magnifies whatever perceived problems you might have at PG and SG.

The big issue if he comes back is whether or not him and TMG can work together... Both have to dominate the ball in order to be effective. If they can be cohesive, I think they'll be better with him.

OU will be better next year regardless of whether WW is on campus or not. If WW comes back, it is pretty much up to Willie. Sorry, I am just a little skeptical if you look at WW's prior transgressions...not clicking at Oak Hill, the Lebron James Camp incident, AJ's girlfriend, attitude, lack of effort in games and on the practice court, etc.

This is a good point, however I think its fair to point out that WW also led North Crowley to a 5A title, and worked well with everyone last season to where OU had an incredible season, so he has done some anti-malcontent things as well.

I think its not too late to write off WW whether or not he can be a true team player. Another year of maturity at the stage where an individual grows the most (college) could perhaps see a different WW then he was this past season.
