It was today. No doubt about it, our inside-outside game was as impressive as it has been all season. And to make it even better, our defense was just as good.

If you look at conference only statistics BEFORE today's game, we were:

2nd in FG%
3rd in 3PT %
4th in assists

Kansas State is the only other team who is equal or better in each of these four categories in the conference.

Are you looking at offense? Yes we are a good offensive team. I was pointing out our defensive shortcomings in conference.

We've averaged 78 points per game since our loss in Ames.

Our offense has really come along. Defense was good early, still good. I think our offense has improved enough to keep us in the game against almost anyone.

We cut up a good Texas defense for 30 minutes. And while the turnovers hurt I think we let the pressure drive us out of our offense. We just didn't run an offense after we began to have problems getting the ball up the court. The one time we did we scored. Offense has been good ever since the Iowa State game in Ames.

It looks like the players have identified and grown comfortable with their role in the offensive scheme.

We play a really tough defense early but by the end of the game we are a step slow. Losing Buddy really hurt the defense as he is one of our best defensive players but also we miss his minutes to allow players to take a breather.

I think Kruger will always go deeper than the average team. He demands so much energy on defense he needs the depth to keep the players fresh. The combination of having only 8 who can play and some who have trouble staying in front of quick players begins to hurt us late.

As I watched the OU/OSU game at GIA, I was struck by the fact at how much better OU moved the ball than OSU. Also movement away from the ball is much better. I would say schematically that OU has the best offense in the conference. There may be a couple of others that have more talent at individual positions but none work as a whole together as well.

Now ranked #31 offensively on Ken Pom. That's about 30 spots higher than we were 5 or 6 games ago.

Our defense has dropped about 17 spots in the same time frame.

I think SoonerinNC is right that the loss of Buddy has hurt our depth and therefor our defense late in ballgames.
