Did anyone on this board actually watch Memphis play this year? They went from top 20 ranked to needing last second free throws to make the Dance.

This guy is less than what Capel was 5 years ago.

Wow. The third youngest team in the country had growing pains. Good eye. That obviously makes him a bad coach. Good call ignoring that he got an incredibly young team to play well in close games, well in a conference tournament and play really well against a strong Arizona team.

Why are you being a douchebag? First off, I never said he was a bad coach. I don't think Capel is a bad coach either, I think some things got out of hand that he should have controlled and also some stuff happened that was out of his control.Comparing Pastner to Capel isn't an insult to Pastner.

As for Pastner, he will be a good coach, but he's not ready. He's been there 2 years, had a great class, but finished 4th in a weak C-USA. And don't be dense, he had some of the best recruits in the country this year. They didn't compete in any of the games against top 25 teams, just like we didn't. Yes they played well against Arizona today. But winning the C-USA tournament, with wins against no other teams in the tourney, doesn't impress me. I'm not knocking the guy, but I don't see him as better than Capel was 5 years ago or right now.

I'm not sure how anything I posted was douchebaggy. I am merely pointing out some things he did well that you seem to be ignoring. You are the one that brought up the Capel comparison, not me. Pastner has the makings of a good young coach. He had experience as an assistant at two big time programs and 2 years head experience at a high profile school. I think he would be a good fit, you don't. No need for name calling.
