Personal connection leads James to OU commit

Funny how things fall into place sometimes. Personal connections are very important when it comes to recruiting.

As an aside, or a bonus if he commits, looks like our newest Sooner is going to help OU recruit 2016 four star point guard, J. J. Caldwell. There is that personal connection again.

J.J. Caldwell plays at Cypress Woods school which is where the Sooners latest women's commit, Nancy Mulkey, goes to school. They're both juniors. As a sophomore last year Caldwell averaged 12 ppg, 10.4 assists (wow), 6.3 rebounds, and 3.1 steals per game (another wow).

Without a doubt, JJ Caldwell had one of the most impressive AAU seasons of the year. After leading his high school team within one game of participating in State, JJ continued his great play throughout the summer while playing AAU with the Houston Defenders. His summer included an invitation to the prestigious NBA Top 100 camp where he was named to the All-tournament team. In addition, JJ Caldwell was recently highlighted by ESPN Texas Rivals as the one to the top seven players in the Class of 2016 in the Texas area. JJ has received interest and offers from OU, Kansas State, Texas, Texas A&M and others.
