Peyton Little Signs with OU

A nice bit of good news! Glad to have her on the team. I think she can add something significant to the Sooners.

I wanted her at OU last year when she decommitted from Fexas. I guess good things happen sometimes to those who wait.

Hopefully she can be like her Uncle David, who I remember dropping buzzer-beater treys on OSU two years in a row.

This more than makes up for the loss of Kamy Cole. I think she's going to be a good player for us.

Finally get to spill the beans. The besties are back! Sooner nation welcome @peyton_little to the squad #YIKES

Apparently Kornet has been wanting to tell this story but was sworn to secrecy.

Great news! Welcom to the team, I liked watching her play with A&M didn't look like a Gary type of player yet she got good minutes and played hard defensive even when she was in her shooting slump.

These are the players we should have in 2015 when Peyton becomes eligible, if no transfers, injuries, etc.

Kornet
Manning
Campbell
Williams (Kaylon)
Williams (LaNesia)
Edwards
Carter
Wyatt
Kellogg
Little

That is 10 players so Sherri has plenty of time to add to the mix.

If I remember correctly, it came down to the Sooners and Aggies when Peyton committed. Well it was worth the wait. Welcome Peyton to the Sooner family. A shame we have to wait a year to see her in the Big XII, but I think she is going to make us very tough to beat. :woot :woot

I found an article that said Peyton was contacted by all of these schools, although I don't know which ones offered:

Oklahoma, Baylor, Texas Tech, Texas, Stanford, Maryland and UConn

You may recall that she originally committed to Texas, decommitted, and then committed to A&M.

My memory is a little foggy, but after she decommited, she made a visit to OU and had a great visit. I remember a "Tweet" from Nicole and it sounded like we might get her. A week or two later she visited A&M and chose the Aggies. I think Kornet was a little disappointed, but so it goes. I'm glad we have her for three years of playing time.

Exactly as I remember it. But, maybe she just wanted to audition at A&M?

Kornet is the ultimate team player she could be a bench player and she still has a great attitude.

Looking at the team I think we could use a post player a hybrid 4/3 or 3/4 and a point guard.

how many transfers from other d1 programs has Sherri accepted over the years? I don't recall any.

By position with a rough average of their national rankings
Kornet 2/3 top 30
Manning 1/2/3 top 30
Campbell 3
Williams (Kaylon) 4/5 top 50
Williams (LaNesia) 1/2
Edwards 1
Carter 1/2
Wyatt 2/3
Kellogg 3/4/5
Little 2/3 top 30

This could be a great roster/season for OU.
But Sherri's going to have to add at least
two pure posts players in 2013-2014. OU might not need a bunch of
post scoring with the firepower at 1-3 spots. With 3 big guards like
Manning, Little, and Kornet maybe you can get away with a 4
guard look for stretches.
But rebounding and defensive post play (the inevitable foul trouble) are going to require more than 2 kids.

Theresa Schuknecht comes to mind (technically she transferred to OU from Southern Nazarene, but she started out at Arizona State).

I don't think there's any doubt that having Kornet is a big reason Little is coming.

Peyton's stats @ a&m 34.2 fg% 25.5 3pt% 69.4 ft%

hopefully those % will improve.
