So many great articles on Buddy out there. I'm trying to not flood the board with all of them. Here's a really good one from the Philadelphia Inquirer...

The quote in there from Jay Wright. Something like "if you only followed Buddy Hield or Oklahoma, you'd think the guy was Superman". As if to say, people who think he is really good just haven't watched enough other teams. OK, I guess Buddy is just another guy, Jay. I'm sure you have 5 just as good at Villanova. :facepalm

I've always kind of like Jay Wright, but a couple of his little comments this week are on the prickish side. Upon closer inspection, maybe I don't like him so much. Good coach, but maybe just a bit of a d-bag. Makes me really appreciate that we have one of the nicest people ever for a coach. Plus, Buddy is just as good-spirited.

The other quote from him that got some of us a little riled up proved to be taken out of context. His full remarks in that instance were just fine -- quite complimentary of Buddy, in fact. Wouldn't be surprised if something similar happened here.

Like you, I didn't quite know what to make of that quote. It's possible it wasn't meant as as a slight. In any case, I watch a lot of college basketball, and I still think Buddy is Superman.

Hoops, you flood as much as you can...no telling if we will ever have another player or final four run in the next 15 years that we can flood the board with such stories. Flood away my brother...flood away.
