Last night he had 7 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks in 21 minutes. In the opener he had 0 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 12 minutes.

Seems like he is as advertised... He is a huge center who blocks shots and rebounds. I havent seen him play yet, but he doubled his minutes from game to game and looks like he is going to have a big impact. We will see when they play someone worth a damn though.

Can't say I don't think OU could have used him...

FWIW, he looked like a night and day difference from game 1 to game 2.

In the first game, he looked a little lost to me... like the game was moving too fast for him. Last night he looked much more comfortable.

Very small sample size of course, but I've been moderately impressed with what I've seen out of him.

The strength of this OSU team, at least at this point, is clearly the defense. In the *very* early going, it really reminds me of those 2001/2002 era OSU teams with Victor Williams, Melvin Sanders, Andre Williams, etc. They were very athletic and defended very well, but sometimes had trouble putting the ball in the hoop.

The upside is that they were in almost every game... the downside is that it can become VERY frustrating when nobody can make a shot.

Anyway... I know it's very early, but that has been my initial impression after two games.

I like what he does when he's away from the ball. He sets multiple screens and when he rolls to the basket his hands are always up. When he gets the ball he's very patient. His patience allowed for some nice assist to guys rolling to the basket or to guys coming off of screens. You really can't ask for a guy his size to do anything less...theres always more he can do but what he does with his size is what you want and his defensive and rebounding presence will lift OSU. If they happen to get D. Williams back this year, and they use him and Jurick together..they can go really far.

Wow, it's his first few games...let's measure up his stats when we are entering Big XII play. I think we could use anyone who is getting 10 rbs a game and contesting shots inside the paint...

After tonight the competition ramps up. Stanford and then probably Syracuse in MSG.
