Is Pledge the worst GREAT 3pt shooter we've ever have? So disappointed in his long range ability!!

He has been.....bad. Thats the nicest way to say it.

To me he's just Cade Davis except Cade is stepping up this year and trying to shoot a lot inside the arc.

pledge is just forcing his shot and i dont blame him when no one else sets up for shots.. he would be a great 3 pt shooter on a normal team..

Why isn't the coach directing how and when the OU players shoot the ball? If you rally believe this it satsuma a lot about Fenton and his control over his players. If Pledger forces a shot late in the clock that is one thing but bad shot selection is bad coaching.

you've got me... idk... the better question is why Capel isn't pulling guys and ripping them when they dont block out! i am just completely blown away by
capel right now.. i think my high school coach demanded more from us than Capel does..

Seriously?? Being a great 3pt shooter does occasionally involve making one, right? I understand going through slumps is normal, but isn't a 2 year slump kinda long? A GREAT 3pt shooter will make some 3's when open, not airballs.

A great 3 point shooter will make some with a hand in his face. He'll make some off-balance. He'll make some from NBA range. Right now Pledge can't hit one wide open.

This is what happens when you call somebody "Bird" when they don't shoot like Bird.

Bad karma.

He was wide open several times yesterday, and time after time we had to listen to Tubbs and Carpenter say "not even close" or "way off on that one"

At some point you have to see him for what he is: an average outside shooter. People thought Cade Davis was a "great shooter" and it took some of them three full seasons to realize he's not.

Yeah, I never understood the label some wanted to put on Cade as this 3-point assassin.

But Pledger is definitely throwing me off. Not saying he would be Steve Kerr, but I didn't expect him to struggle this much from behind the arc.

Is it possible that he is a very solid 3pt shooter but the fact that he was asked to play the point and grow his game to be more aggressive off the dribble has really hurt him?

I just see a guy that could play a great role, that being a guy that really is solid at spotting up around the 3 and occasionally driving if they overplaying him...but its like he has been trying to expand his game into things he just plain isnt good at...

Plus i see much of the Neal scenario where this team doesnt have a solid PG to help distribute the ball, not that he is anywhere near the Neal level...but i do think that hurts him...

Personally my opinion is that he is a 3pt shooter only and is just trying to do too much...
