What is wrong with Steven Pledger? He is just not playing very good basketball right now. I'll leave it open for discussion.

I think him playing point is affecting him in multiple ways, he's a shooter first but because he's a team player he's changing his mindset to try to run the point. Throwing off his shot and stuff, lets give Blair and Newell chances at the point and get him off the ball where I bet he will be a lot more comfortable. Not much left to lose.

He is a 2 guard!

Beat me to it. Its hard to try and teach a 2 guard to be a 1 guard after yrs of being a 2. People think just because someone can dribble, they can be a 1. No more true than someone who can throw automatically = great QB..... He is not a PG.

But he's playing sub par when he's in the two spot with Blair running the point. He's just not making good decision. Shots not falling and he's making poor passes on the perimeter. You think all of this is because playing time at the point? There have been a few time these last two games that I have found myself questioning whether he is hustling or not.

Maybe I'm just being optimistic but perhaps its the fact he's been practicing and thinking as a point guard recently he can't get out of his mindset. We really need to just let Pledger move back to his mindset as a shooter, it will improve his confidence in a lot of ways as when shots are falling the rest of his game should step up.

I agree with this. I'm sure it's frustrating learning a new position and struggling at the same time. It's time to let Pledger be Pledger.

Quit shooting 3's... he has a nice pull up.

like was said he has no business playing the point. just a bad idea that needs to be changed now.

pledge has a lot of talent also and can be a 15-20 PPG guy imo.

He makes that shot just inside the 3pt line all the time, but is shooting horribly from 3. Plus, they are trying to make him play point guard, a position that he has never had to play in his life. Its also a position they asked him to take about a week before tipoff.

Coaches put him in a very difficult situation because of their recruiting shortcomings.

I think Blair being sick had something to do with it. He has played much better the last three games than he did in the exhibition game. hopefully we can have blair at the point so pledge can go off ball at the two, with cade starting at the 3. Then have cam newell, neal, and Cj be our second line

Maybe he's just an average basketball player

I hope for the sake of our program he is more than an average basketball player. I think he has the tools to be an outstanding 2 guard in the Big 12/X
