Practice 10-20-12

2 people suggested that Gary never played ball based on their analysis of his reports.

Did he ever respond to those charges? Or does he consider revealing his poker abilities and horse racing knowledge as an equivalent substitute?

I wonder what OU's record is with Pledger as a starter. I am guessing it's under .500. Not that it's 100% Pledgers fault or anything, but to suggest that the "older" crop of players on OU's roster are nothing more than bench players on good teams doesn't seem like too much of a stab.

Agreed. We keep playing the same guys that keep loosing why would our results change? Do we just have to hope other teams are getting worse?

Gary, I appreciate your analysis and really I don't know why anyone calls out people on message boards. Please keep posting stuff like this because I don't have time to watch and I love reading updates. Just ignore them...

I don't think all the youngsters will start over seniors. However I fully expect fitz's minutes to be reduced a lot from past year as well as cam, pledger and grooms.

Your long suite seems to be evaluating Stoops ability to coach and Landry's ability to quarterback. Are you now suggesting that you are ready to move on up to setting standards for message board posters.

Go ahead. You set the minimum standards for all of us to meet to be able to render an opinion on Sooner basketball. If everyone else agrees to comply, I'll be happy to move along with all rest if we happen to not qualify.

In the mean time. I hope Santa brings you that glass belly button.

Yeah, with Boca chiming in, I might be on the wrong side of this discussion.

Ha, just kidding, Boca. Or maybe not...

Horse racing and women to be exact.

This thread is gold.

After the scrimmage I like the toughness and constant play of osby. In my opinion best player on the team. He looks like he is picking up where he left off last year and if that is the case we are in really good shape. M'Baye is coming into his own and this is the big 12 not the mountain west. Osby adjusted well from the SEC; which is a great bball conference. This was our chance to see what everybody has been talking about M'Baye domination in practice and i did not see it in the scrimmage. It is too early to say this kid is one is done considering the fact he has not played one game in in the Big 12.I think he will find his shot after he gets a couple of games under his belt. Lets be honest the only thing we have to go on is hype for M'Baye. Let the kid play first and then we can talk NBA.

I'm with you, Mike. People forget that Osby came into last season as the "best player on our roster" the year he sat out after transferrring from MSU. His struggles early on, however, had some on this board asking if his "best player" tag was just hype. By season's end, Ro had left little doubt about his value to the team. He was indeed the best player on our roster.

This year, it's M'Baye's turn. I'm not the least bit disappointed or worried that he didn't dominate Saturday's scrimmage. He'll come around in time, and so will his shot.

M'Baye and Osbys situations are a little different in that Osbys first year to play was also his first year in Krugers system. In effect, he was kind of like a JC transfer, where their second year is usually much better than their first. M'Baye had that transfer year under Kruger. I am hoping he hits the ground running where Osby kind of had to find his way through.

Please remember that defense is a big part of winning basketball.
