Today was media day for the local press. They got started late then made up for it by finishing late. They were on the main floor again and the crowd was sparse.
Kruger was putting in some new offensive wrinkles. From my vantage point, I couldn't grasp the nuance of what he was trying to get them to do. The players seemed a bit hesitant and confused for a half hour or so. It finally smoothed out and they went on to some conditioning work and drills.
Using in house refs, they put in a long segment of 5 on 5 full court work. Todays scrimmage was sort of a bad news good news deal. The bad news was that as a group and individually they had a really poor shooting day. Toward the end some shots did start falling. The good news was that they never went thru an extended scoring drought.
The bigs and all of them really were doing just great work on the boards and scored several put backs. Cam and the guards were just relentless jumping into creases and driving to the rim.
Hamilton is coming around. He isn't quite there yet. But, he is coming around. Booker is getting close.
Bennett was out of the boot today and back in basketball shoes. From this point it will be a slow day by day increase in activities. Hornbeak was wearing one of those clear plastic full face mask. Non basketball related injury I was told. He didn't seemed to be bothered by it much.
It is my understanding that Buford will announce on 11/5 after his SC visit.
