Actually took some time and wrote down some detailed thoughts over the quick notes I've done in the past.

Osby, M'Baye, leadership, expectations and other subjects are covered.

10/19/2011 update

Good stuff, Sam.

Maybe Tyler Neal could be like Tim Heskett or Luke Axtell (at UT). Just a 3pt specialist. One of those guys that plays about 10 minutes a game but hits a couple 3's each time out.

That is what I was thinking. A zone buster maybe. I still see him struggling to guard guys out on the perimeter, but the kid appears to have a decent stroke.

I'm interested to see (among a host of other things) how he has progressed from last year. Could and should be a substantial jump.

Very nice job, Sam! Thanks!!!

I refuse to get my hopes up too high this season, but I'm encouraged by your assessment of the team as a whole. I have already gone on record in saying that this team will be an improvement over last year, and your report seems to confirm that.

It's good to know that Osby finally came out of his shell to show why nearly everyone associated with the team last year claimed he was the best player on our roster. Sounds like he may benefit from M'Baye's presence more than anyone.

Good stuff Sam.:clap:clap

Thanks for all of the updates, recruiting info, etc..... You give me a reason to check in everyday!!!!:)

bird, cam, blair, fitz, honore, c.j., newell and neal are back. That is 8 of the 9 kids that played back. Davis was a key cog, but was and is interchangeable with bird and cam (they are all reasonably tall wings that can shoot and finish in transition).

So, there is no reason not to expect that with all these kids having more experiance, another off season and another fall camp, the team will be improved -- with or without the new guys.

Who knows, but Osby looks like he will give us a good athlete that can defend the 4 in man to man (really only cj could do that last year). And if he is as good as some think, he will really add to the team.

Grooms gives us another point, and if he is quick enough to stay in front of the quicker points and has decent handles, then he will help this year.

If Arent can bang a little and use his height defensively once in a while against some of the taller kids, then he will help. We didn't have that last year.

I don't know how good we can be, and frankly, I don't expect that much from the team. But, we almost have to be a little better. \

Importantly, I think our schedule is also a little more manageable.

Thanks for the report! Stuff like that gets me pumped for the season. Even if the wins aren't there this year, I feel like Sooner basketball is coming back and it's only a matter of time.

With the way M'Baye is challenging Osby in practice, bringing him in the offseason might be the biggest move Kruger's made so far.

Thanks Sam but what about CJ? It sounds like from practice reports and such he has pretty much been eclipsed by just about everybody at his position? Has he improved under Kruger?
