What do you guys think? These were the type of games the Sooners lost last year. Found a way with a guy making a huge play (Woodard).

We did lose this game last year at Creighton

Without question. Oh man some of those early season games last year where we just melted down the stretch.

Depth won the game for us last night that we did not have last year. Buford and James were the difference.

Question for the board: Was Memphis a better team than Creighton was last year?

I think Memphis is the better team. They had 3 Top 50 freshman players, and Shaq Goodwin was a load inside. Their PG was an Alabama transfer who averaged 13 ppg last year, and they had a couple of good perimeter players. The freshman, Dedric Lawson, will likely play in the NBA in the not so distant future. Their starting 5 was solid, and Burrell and the other Lawson off the bench gives them a solid nucleus.

I think as the year goes on, that win will look better and better.

I think they were better than Creighton. I think Memphis will have a pretty solid season if they can improve their 3 point shooting or learn not to take so many. However, I am not sure D Lawson will play in the NBA. I would need to see a lot more than one game to say a guy that is probably below average size for the NBA and not exceptionally athletic will play in the NBA. I agree he looked good but the NBA is a different animal. They are all so good that plenty of really good college players never make and/or do not succeed if they get a chance.

Creighton played over their heads last year and it was the best game they played all year.

Ha. Yes. Yes Indeed. I am HOPING that you won't have any game like that to talk about on future game threads this year!

I've turned a new leaf, maybe. I didn't really talk about that game after conference play started, but ya kept giving me a hard time about it. It was justified though. I ripped the team for blowing a pretty large lead and it was only the 2nd game of the year. As long as they find ways to win games, I won't (try) to complain
