His latest brackets have OU going to Knoxville as a #7 seed to play a #2 Tennessee. Our first round game would be Florida Gulf Coast.

He gives the Big Twelve only four teams. ACC, SEC, and Big Ten get 8. Pac twelve gets 6.

He has OU at #29 while the NCAA has us at #22. We were #20 yesterday.

AP only has one Big 12 team ranked this week, with two others receiving votes (us and texas). So, four teams in is probably about right.

It is undoubtedly a down year for the Big 12 and when you don't have ranked opponents to get your signature wins against on national television like you did a few years ago... tough to showcase yourself to the committee.

The one way to change that is to beat Baylor in Norman. That would give us a huge boost in the RPI and also give us instant credibility.

I don't think we have a problem. I think that a split with Baylor results in a #1 or #2 seed for Baylor and a #3 or #4 seed for us.

I don't think that Creme's selection of only four teams from the Big Twelve is all that likely. The conference is down at the top in the sense that there is balance. It is really OU, Baylor, and the rest, the rest being able to beat up on each other pretty good.

But, when I look at who the NCAA would have to put in as the seventh or eighth team of some of these conferences, it doesn't make much sense. One of the ACCs eight would probably be Pitt which will be about 19-10, 9-7 in conference play. Pitt's non-conference schedule was such that their signature wins were over Michigan and Drexel (at home). They lost to Duquesne. The wins over the Pitts are the reason that James Madison and Princeton are rated highly. Vandy is 12-10 now, 4-6 in conference play. They'll probably finish 15-13, 7-9 in conference play. Michigan and Northwestern would be among the eight from the Big Ten, and neither could take TCU. The best win that either has is probably Gonzaga.

When you get past the top four, no conference has a lot to offer.

The Big 12 is young but talented this year. A lot of squads are dealing with youth, with a massive loss of seniors in the last two years being replaced by players who are only beginning to make names for themselves. It's true that most teams in the conference played pathetically weak non-conference schedules (notably not including OU or KU), but that doesn't mean the conference is mud. Every team in the conference is at least two games above .500, and 9-2 is still 9-2 in conference play, regardless of how Charlie Creme views it.

The biggest reason the Big 12 is getting no respect this year outside of Baylor is that Crème published a scathing criticism of the conference's scheduling this year, but failed to note the scores of other teams in power conferences that did exactly the same thing. The Big 12's overall RPI is almost the same as the Big Ten, SEC and ACC, and notably better than the Pac-12.

You'd think that a conference with three national championships and plenty of Final Four teams in the last decade would get more respect.

Crème is on the ESPN payroll and as such is obligated to overplay the ESPN supported SEC and to denigrate OU and the Big-12 with it's Fox Sports connections.

If you believe his rankings, he is saying there are about 30 teams better than OU - and that means the top 6-7 members of some conferences would be at the top of the Big-12. Obviously garbage talk. He doesn't believe it (or if he does he should be fired) nor do most informed people.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!

Brackets are worthless in my opinion, especially when there is a lot of basketball yet to be played. The only brackets that are viable are the ones released by the selection committee.

Agree Norm! Too much can happen with the rest of the schedule and the conference tourney.
