I guess "respect" is a relative term. How quickly we get spoiled with a top-10 ranking. Let's see were OU is ranked if they start 11-0 before January arrives.

SOS is a weird calculation that is made weirder by a small sample size. Three of OU's six wins have come against cupcakes ... McNeese State, Incarnate Word, Central Arkansas. Those three are the only real cupcakes on OU's 30 game schedule. OU's SOS should gradually improve with the games coming up.

It was. Coaches poll comes out monday morning and AP sunday night I think...

Coaches don't even fill out the poll, usually the SID or a grad assistant. You think Coach K is taking time out of his week to fill out a poll in December?

Unless they are playing a team in the rankings and reviewing film, highly unlikely they are monitoring the CBB landscape.

SOS is also low because Memphis has only played cupcakes at home and Wisconsin has a couple of early season losses. I expect both of those teams to be between 25-50 in the RPI when the season ends.

OU is also one of only 10 undefeated teams remaining in D1.

Keep in mind the CBS poll happened AFTER we destroyed Nova. Maryland, North Carolina, and Iowa State still ranked higher.

Like Duke, I simply don't understand the love for Iowa State. They haven't beaten anyone of consequence....they simply started above us. They do have a game @Cincinnati before they play us, so I guess we will find out more about them before conference.

In the end it doesn't matter, I just prefer rankings based upon accomplishments.....okay/rant over.
