Glad I don't have to rank the teams for one of the polls this week. College basketball has gone totally ape.

Agreed. I would be flipping a lot of coins in picking my top ten.

I was beginning to think that little brother to the north should be in the top three. That was before they blew big leads to Purdue and Butler, and then lost to a team they had destroyed in Stillwater two weeks earlier. Even worse, "Mr. Carry Us to a Championship" looked to be anything but a candidate for NPOY honors.

In other words, I don't have a clue how to rank the teams most of us had at or near the top last month. KU looks to be an average team right now. UNC and Kentucky? Well, they're just not the KU and UK we're accustomed to. I'm sure both will improve as the season progresses. Still, how can you rank them in the top ten right now?

If the merry-go-round continues, this could turn out to be a very interesting season! It could also be a year when we have more than one "Cinderella" in the final four.

If you base your rankings off of the preseason poll and then go from there it will effectively lead to a lot of confusion, but if you use the actual games played as your barometer then you will be less confused.
