Recap of Bedlam- My Experience in GIA

Why not?

Close game + Victory = Best
Blowout + Victory = Good but not best
Blowout + Loss = Not fun
Close game + Loss = Worst

Sorry, but against a hated rival? Blowout + Victory = Priceless

Actually, I'll take a blowout every time. The only thing close games have going for them is that they prepare you for the next close game. But if you could guarantee me an entire season of blowout wins, I'd sign on in a heartbeat.

You would be hard-pressed to find a Sooner fan in agreement with your logic who was in the Cotton Bowl on October 7, 2000.

And I am speaking from experience.

That's not very realistic. Teams need the close games for the learning experience of either stepping up to the challenge or not. Games like Saturday's game are invaluable to teams.

Yup...I love close games like anyone else but with other games not involving OU..of course the other side of the coin is winning those nail biters..but in that moment it's no fun to deal with a close game..blowouts...the bigger the better

You're entirely right; it's not realistic at all, in that no one can guarantee us an entire season of blowout victories.

But if someone could, I'd take it, and then our guys wouldn't need the learning experience, as we'd already be assured of a season of nothing but blowout victories.

But yes, it's a silly, imaginary scenario.

Haven't been to a game in Stillwater since my senior year at OU ('80). We lost that one, but we won the year before when I got courtside seats from the OU coaching staff at the time. Still haven't forgotten one of the worst, game-influencing calls I've ever seen - a foul on one of the guards in the corner down at their south end, and somehow Al Beal got charged with it, and fouled out, on a play he was nowhere near.

I'd also prefer a blowout win over OSU, but if I can't have one of those, I'll settle for one of those gut-wrenching (for the Pokes) games like the one Terrell Everett won in the final second in Norman. The more emotional pain it inflicts on them, the more I'll enjoy it.

Games like the first Bedlam game in Norman are fun. But there's also fun to be had when the aggies get their hopes up, like in the first half on Saturday, only to have them dashed in the second half. ;)

You got that right!!! :woot
