Mallory Vaughn (6-4) Collinsville Cardinals – Sophomore-Center
The center averaged 14 points last year and recorded 100 blocks.
The Lady Cardinal BB team started the game with an 18-8 1st qrt run and never looked back in the Championship game vs Class 6A Stillwater at Bixby on Sat. Taylor O'Dell and Mallory Vaughn were selected to the All Tournament team and Vaughn was named tournament MVP. O'Dell put in 13 pts in the Championship game and had 32 total for the tournament while Vaughn totaled 31 pts for the tournament with 17 in the Championship game. Maddy Vaughn contributed 10 pts vs Stillwater and Brittney Kickapoo added 7. Saywer Salisbury was given tough job of shutting down Stillwater's big scoring threat and held her to just 1 pt in the second half. It was a great win for the Girls who won the first invitational tournament in recent years. - See more at: http://www.collinsvillesports.com/h...am-wins-bixby-toutnament#sthash.V4KYPDEn.dpuf
Maddy Vaughn is Mallory's sister.
Mallory Vaughn – 6’4″ Post, OK Players With Purpose (PWP); Mallory moves well for a young player of her height and size. Good fundamentals around the basket. She has a soft touch up to 12ft from the basket. Solid rebounder. Mallory’s post play will be tracked by several over the coming seasons.
I watched her leave with her mother after the game. Man those are two tall ladies. Good to see her at the game, can't wait to see her in a Sooner uniform.
I'm very anxious to see what Mulkey can do in D-1 basketball. We badly need a player like Cox or Holmes to keep her from being double or triple teamed which will certainly affect her effectiveness.
