Recruiting

Why are we hating on a kid who wants to be a Sooner? He could have gone to KU or ISU. ISU has had a ton of success with transfers and juco's. I think OU did well to get Strong!

To be fair, he didn't have an offer from KU. Showing interest is not the same as an official offer. And Hoiberg's blueprint to success was transfers, not JUCOs.

I'm not saying any of this as a slight to Strong. Earning 3rd team JUCO All-American offers with a year left to play is an impressive feat. With another year of polish in JUCO he could be a solid player for OU.

Lots of youth on the 2016-17 roster. Adding a junior point guard seems timely. It also balances out the roster a bit, based on class.

I don't see any weakness in that 16/17 roster and adding Boldin could make them real good.

Yeah, Bolden is a pipe dream. At least we made his final 7, but he's a one-and-done player destined for one of the blue-blood programs.

Why do you say things you know nothing about?

Bolden is from DeSoto and your name says you must be, too. Do you think OU is still in it? OU losing 3 starters who have started 3/4 years means a lot of new faces will play for the Sooners in 2016-2017, but I'm excited about the ceiling of all these newcomers. It could be the beginning of even better things for the OU basketball program.

I'm excited about seeing Buford, Odomes, Manyang, James, McNeace, etc. this year and then Strong, McGusty, Freeman, and Doolittle the next year. Maybe even Bolden...... That's a lot of good, young talent.

I'm biased but I think OU is a program on a rapid rise. Hopefully, players like Bolden recognize that and maybe one or two of them will want to be part of it. That's my pipe dream.

If he is anyone he is a relative or a coach of Bolden.

"Do you know Marcus? I can tell you many kids on our team look up to him. I understand you hate him. Sooners have a classy coach, lots of classy fans on this board with good info. Don't think you fit... "

I hope Bolden comes to OU, hope I'm dead wrong! He doesn't like me and that's fine. Just reporting what I know.

Actually, I'm a she, not a he. I just have issues with people posting untrue stuff on message boards. If my son chooses a rival school, I would hate someone to post "they know for a fact" he's on drugs when its not true. This board has posters who know things (leopard I think), I don't think you're one of them.

Desoto hoops, please don't be offended by what another poster said about Bolden. Truth is, I doubt if anyone on this board knows for sure what that young man is going to do. He's good enough to go to any school he wants, and that's exactly what I would do if I was in his shoes.

I hope it's OU! I'm also an eternal optimist who will hang onto that hope until he makes a decision. It's definitely not out of the question. The Sooners are getting some positive press nationally these days. So, who is to say that a future star like Bolden would turn his back completely on being "the man" at OU next year? Blake Griffin didn't. Sure, he was a home state boy, so the decision might have been easier for him. But, if Marques is comfortable with our coaching staff and he feels at home when he visits OU, I can see him following in BG's footsteps. Wishful thinking? Sure. Like I said, I'm the eternal optimist. ;)

By the way, welcome to OUHoops! Please feel free to post anything you want about Marques or any other topic. Your participation in our discussions will be appreciated!

With all due respect, I always stand by what I post. I know you've only made for post here, with all due respect, I always stand by what I post. I know you've only made for post here but if you stick around long enough I think you'll see that I don't post made up stuff.

I have kids as well, I have players as well, I sure would hate if someone posted untruths about them. That is why I wouldn't post anything but I didn't know was true, especially about someone and drugs.

I said all along Bolden had a slim chance to go to OU. Then I sarcastically said Bolden is it going to OU.

Obviously this is struck a nerve with you so please post what you know or if he's coming to Oklahoma like I said I would love for him to be here and be dead wrong
