LETS TAKE it DOWN a NOTCH
It mentions that he may be signable for the right price -- lots of times, teams will pay over slot value for a second or third round guy if they decide to save a little money on their top pick. If a team really likes him, and knows he might require more money to bypass college, they could go that route.ESPN did a top 150 prospects rankings yesterday: Updated 2025 MLB draft rankings: Top 150 prospects -- and a mini-mock draft
47. Alec Blair (18.7), CF, De La Salle HS (CA), Oklahoma commit
Probably can count on him not stepping foot on campus.
Correct, Last year the second round signing bonus ranged 1.12m to 3.8m. Third round ranged from 620k to 2.5m, Obviously high school kids are at the top of those ranges, college guys are the ones signing for less. Some of the high school kids are signing for double what there slot value says.It mentions that he may be signable for the right price -- lots of times, teams will pay over slot value for a second or third round guy if they decide to save a little money on their top pick. as of last month he said in an interview that he was going to school to play bball and baseball .. so we shall see ..It mentions that he may be signable for the right price -- lots of times, teams will pay over slot value for a second or third round guy if they decide to save a little money on their top pick. I don’t put much stock in what he says. He obviously is trying to increase his leverage. If he were to say that he is leaning toward signing, it hurts his bargaining power.as of last month he said in an interview that he was going to school to play bball and baseball .. so we shall see ..
clearly there would be some dollar value where he would be dumb to not turn pro ..
I guess we won't know for sure until july ..
Are you saying OU baseball spent $500k total?Correct, Last year the second round signing bonus ranged 1.12m to 3.8m. OU baseball functioned this last off season with 500k ish, Don't see Porter parting with much cash if the kids a better baseball prospect. Idk, right now I lean him signing.
he is also a very very good 4 star basketball recruit ..Correct, Last year the second round signing bonus ranged 1.12m to 3.8m. I'm hoping pack and brown are better.. but that could be a good problem if not. Dayton proved a lot of doubters wrong. Now let's see what he can do with higher expectations. I thought moser's rotations with Dayton were weird sometimes last year too.Bored with no basketball to watch now that the NBA season is over, so I’ve been watching OU games from last season. Just watched the Ole Miss game where Dayton went nuclear. I think even with the influx of guard talent we’ve gotten this year, he should be given a fair chance to be a starter. I genuinely believe he has a chance to be a REALLY good college basketball player.
I’m pretty sure Xzayvier Brown is locked into a starting spot, but Dayton might just be better than Pack. Especially on the defensive end.
Wait -- so Dayton is now better than a guy who was previously All Big 12 player, Big 12 Most Improved, 40% three point shooter over 5 seasons, 2 to 1 career assist to turnover ratio, and 2022 Midwest Region Most Outstanding Player?I'm hoping pack and brown are better.. but that could be a good problem if not. Thanks for summarizing. Does Brody have us on draft watch for Atak lol? I do hope he turns into a player but will have to see it to believe it.Two Sooners hoops players turning heads in summer workouts
Basic gist of article is that Lusk expects Kuol Atak to play a large role this season and that Reid is a lock to start either at the 3 or 4.
He claims his source said he “has an NBA skill set when it comes to making shots.”Thanks for summarizing. Does Brody have us on draft watch for Atak lol? I do hope he turns into a player but will have to see it to believe it.
I read it more so like Atak is pushing for a role and could be a scorwr off the bench. I find it interesting he was leading the team in scoring so far. Atak needs to put on more weight thoughTwo Sooners hoops players turning heads in summer workouts

Yeah. I didn't say that, the other guy did.Wait -- so Dayton is now better than a guy who was previously All Big 12 player, Big 12 Most Improved, 40% three point shooter over 5 seasons, 2 to 1 career assist to turnover ratio, and 2022 Midwest Region Most Outstanding Player?
I LOVE Dayton and think he can have a Payton Pritchard type career, but Pack has been there, done that. He's a starter day one, period.
Oh God. I am still waiting to find out whether Brody and McCollum hung out on draft night and were shocked not to hear his name called. He claims his source said he “has an NBA skill set when it comes to making shots.”
Take with that what you will.
