It was my first game of the year and we were about 7-8 rows up from the Texas bench. There was a fan or two from Texas that acted like complete fools the whole game, but one fan just would stand for awhile then sit back down. Did nothing wrong the whole game. He had OU fans yelling at him and older fans telling him to sit down. They called security over even. I thought it was ridiculous on the part of the OU fans.. To me it's simple..stand up and cheer for your team then, it is a BASKETBALL Game. This guy really had some bad things said towards him for doing nothing wrong. I regret not going up to him after the game and apologizing for the way people were acting towards him now. The fans filled the arena, but that doesn't mean that they brought the energy or fully support this team. I thought the actual team and the crowd lacked energy all day.

Side notes: I thought Polla looked decent in warm ups and acts like he really cares/wants to be here and get better. I think he could turn into a solid player for us.
Also I may have tickets to the OU-Kstate game if anyone is interested.

Did nothing wrong? Really?

He is a Texas fan!!! In Norman...that alone is enough to deserve getting crap.

In all seriousness, if he was standing up when everyone is sitting down, he should be yelled at

I agree...you can be a good fan and not STAND the whole game if everyone around you is sitting down. It's more of a respect/etiquette thing than anything else. I only stand if the people in front of me are...or if it's at a critical moment.

If you're in the student section..all bets are off, but otherwise you're kind of being selfish.

yep.

It takes a special kind of doosh as an opposing fan, to standup when noone else is. Even if they aren't saying anything, they know what they are doing. It's top level trolling

I disagree with the two posters above. I'd love for OU fans to stand more often. You guys must of hated going to Wichita, considering their fans stand most of the game. I'd rather fans stand and be in the game, rather than sitting like they are at home just watching the game. No wonder the LNC sounds like a library, because no one wants to stand and yell, they'd rather sit back and watch.

I never said anything about our fans standing.

Yes, I would love if all fans stood all the time. But thats a different discussion

This is a texas fan standing all by himself in LNC

To each their own. Every fan is entitled to watch the game as they so desire. However common sense and etiquette says do not unnecessarily impose your will on others. Fortunately our peers cannot impose their will on us. If you bought your ticket and put your butt in the LNC watch the game as you so chose while being respectful of others.

Almost everyone looks good in warmup are you kidding me.
