Self says KU can't compete/recruit at the same level now

If OSU does end up in the Pac 54, then I think Bill Self will be the next coach whenever Ford leaves/is fired/joins the cast of Wizard of Oz on ice.

Being left out of a conference and without a coach is actually a good thing for Kansas.

He will be in 6th Man, the Men's rec league Years!

No, he's working on getting KU in a BCS conference. Lew will be doing the same. They will work hard at it.

But I guess your dream scenario of KU not getting into a BCS conference over the next two years if the Big 12 disbands, Izzo goes to coach the Cavs despite already turning down the Bulls this year and reports that Byron Scott/Cavs talks are heating up and Bill Self leaves KU to coach at Michigan St are much more plausible. :facepalm

Regardless if he left or not KU Hoops will be fine. Just like when Larry Legend left. Just like when Roy left.
Never knew Larry Bird coached the Hawks.

6th Man rules, you get to see Travis Ford dunk.

And Marlon Wayans is the next Sidney Poitier.

SCRATCH THAT. Sidney Poitier was the first Marlon Wayans.

The REAL Larry Legend

I watched that movie for the first time in forever a couple months some random late night. When I realized Danny O'Grady was Travis Ford it ruined the movie forever, I couldn't focus on anything beside that it was Travis freaking Ford. Weird.

Underrated basketball movie IMO.

I can't hate Travis Ford since he was in that movie. I just can't.

Why would Self take the Michigan State job. It's hilarious how many degrees of separation a few of you are going to annoint the downfall of the mighty kingdom known as KU basketball. And regardless when Larry Brown left our league cohorts annointed the fall of KU. Then Roy left and it was going to be the end. If Bill ever leaves coaches will be lining up at the door.

I guess you didn't read Bill Self's interview!

He is more worried than you are. :vitale

According to Cheno, KU basketball will not miss a beat. It won't be long before Bill skips out on KU. You can't blame him. Unless KU becomes part of a Big East/ACC merger, Jayhawk basketball is finished, as we know it.
I think they and KSU would be better served in the Conference USA.C-USA is a very good basketball conference and a good not spectacular football conference. That pretty much mirrors the makeup of KU and KSU.

Lew may not be there much longer.

He'll be there threw the end of 2010-2011 so definitely in time to get KU in a conference. He'll be instrumental...he carries a lot of weight...no pun intended. :clap

Self tonight holds a press conference and in one short presser calms the nerves of the entire state of Kansas and has them eating out of his hands.
Damn that dude is a stud. When he's done coaching he may be the next Governor of Kansas. I say give him the AD job as well.

Bill Self...."We've got some things going on but I can't talk about that." :clap
