Was the right move, both financially and from a basketball perspective. If he doesn't have a really good year next year with all he has on the roster, then the writing is really on the wall... but I think they will be really good next season.

I don’t necessarily disagree with this BUT I think this has been said in the offseason for pretty much every year since he’s been there just to be followed up by disappointment

He's like Vodka Tom. Wins enough to keep his job and create excitement for NEXT year, but isn't strong enough to dominate or be a force in the conference.

I sent that texas AD a brief email reminding him that the longhorns didn't "finish in third" but in a four-way tie for third and that OU had earned the third seed in the Big 12 tourney to ut's fourth seed.

Weirdly, I got an email today from his secretary. He'd like to speak to me on the phone, and will I provide my telephone number? I think I'll pass (he probably thinks I'm a disgruntled ut alum).
