No surprise. Sounds like Smart really likes where he is. He probably has a list of 5 or so schools he'd listen to, and everybody else he'll just turn town. Good for him.
I'm not sure he leaves from Kansas though. And I would guess Duke or UNC would open up the next 5 or 6 years or so looking at the ages of their coaches.North Carolina
Kentucky
Duke
Kansas
Georgetown
I believe those are the only jobs he would leave VCU for at this point.
Georgetown is on there simply because he is already so well connected to that area, he'd just be taking it up another level.
It's nice to see guys like him and Stevens stay put. The grass isn't always greener at the larger schools.

Andy Katz is reporting that UCLA Is talking to Stevens about a contract
I hope that doesn't happen. It would be a huge disappointment.
UCLA would have fired him for losing two-straight national title games

Alford won or shared the Mountain West Conference title four times in his six seasons as head coach. The 1987 Indiana grad has been on a meteoric rise in the profession from Southwest Missouri State to Iowa to New Mexico and now to UCLA.
