Should KU Be Punished?

And if he had the flu or other illness, he could pass that onto other players or the other team and create more chaos.

I'm just curious if you had a problem with Jordan playing with the flu in the finals?

We all want to hate on KU, but if the kid wasn't running a fever and wanted to play through it I can respect that. I sure never wanted to play through being sick. I'm not 100% on the NCAA's regulations on COVID, but 2 negative tests seems to be the standard in sports as I understand it.

.

No i didn't because there wasn't a global pandemic around with the same symptoms when he did this

And i think you were missing the point. He could pass the flu onto other players that would then have to fump through hoops and isolate until they knew it wasn't covid as well

and he did have a fever. He also had stomach issues, fatigue, and a hard time breathing.

and don't forget that Kansas had just played St. Jo's and SJ shut down activities due to covid 2 days after playing Kansas

I agree that it is reckless for a player to play that is sick. The main thing here is if he has a fever. I can't imagine any coach would play a kid who was running a fever. So if he didn't have a fever then he would not be contagious. And since he had received 2 negative covid tests then it is believed that he wouldn't have had Covid. However I don't believe that anyone, even medical professionals truly knows much of anything about Covid.

SORRY. No COVID talk. I apologize Boulder. Didnt think it would take this turn.

It's highly irresponsible. I can't disagree with you at all.

I agree that it may be reckless for a player to play that is sick. The main thing here is if he had a fever and if he felt good enough to play. I can't imagine any coach would play a kid who was running a fever, or even have him around the team. I also can't imagine a coach forcing a kid to play who didn't feel good enough to play. So if he didn't have a fever then he would not have been contagious and he felt good enough to play. He had also already received 2 negative covid tests so the staff/medical staff had no reason to believe he had covid. However I don't believe that anyone, even medical professionals truly knows much of anything about Covid. It just a strange time we live in right now where the fear of Covid has overrun everything.

You hit the nail squarely on the head, CM (in my opinion, at least).

No one – not the SG, not Fauci, not any local GP – has one iota of an idea about the intricacies that exist in the spread of this virus, the benefits (or non-benefits) of wearing masks, whether it's actually dangerous to dine outdoors. gather with our families for a holiday meal, fly on a commercial jetliner, or participate in a basketball game as members of one of the most healthy, COVID-resistant segments of our society.

And folks like us who frequent this board are just kidding ourselves if we pretend we do know.

I don't think anything has been out of line as the covid talk is in context to basketball.

But I can see it veering off pretty quickly. So I understand if the thread needs to be locked.

I've read a few articles that said he had a fever. some didn't mention it. So i'm not sure. But you can still be contagious without a fever.

Sorry, guys! You have all been gentlemen in discussing the OP’s question, yet it has taken a turn with the potential to go against what Boulder wants us to do. I’m locking the thread.
