It is 2015 and the conference season is about to begin. Please consider coming back to the board. You are a voice of reason and one of the most objective posters on here.

Best poster on this board and it isn't even close...
Come back and please post on the men's side as well!!
I greatly appreciate the positive comments. Let's get back to talking some hoops!
Serious basketball is what this forum should be about. I find it interesting that one is prohibited from atacking another poster yet this forum has been repeatedly used to assault, attack, and question every aspect of the women's program from coaches to players to AD to administration. When a bit of criticism is levied at an individual, the reaction has been evident.
I, for one, get enomously frustrated and upset when we lose. Having frustrations is one thing - taking it out as personal attacks on the women student athletes and coaching staff via the terrible denigrating comments that have been posted on this forum this year is something quite different.
I am enormously proud of the fact that the women's program has been conducted with integrity and has never sullied, besmirched, tarnished, diminished, embarrased or otherwise denigrated the wonderful University of Oklahoma. I am proud to be a graduate of the U of O and am tremendously appreciative of the way the athletic programs have been conducted - recently. We have had our problems with coaches and players in the past but the present crew seem to be individuals with integrity and character.
I will rejoice when we win and mutter to myself when we fail. I will not ever, however, take it out on the ladies and the coaching staff. Needless to say, I am quite some distance from being PERFECT!!!!!!!

Excellent post, Three Toe. You should post more often.
I'm a big believer in the following statement:
Coaches get too much credit after victories and too much blame after losses.
If a very experienced team is playing with a true freshman point guard, the experienced players might be able to overcome some of the problems that come along with a true freshman point guard. Unfortunately, we aren't in that situation. We have 1 Senior and 2 Juniors on the entire team. Everyone else is a freshman or sophomore.
This season is probably going to be more painful than some people can take if the only thing they get satisfaction out of is wins vs losses. Personally, I see a team with more fight than it had last year. I will enjoy watching the individual players and the team improve throughout the year.

There is quite a difference in Bob Stoops and Sherri Coale, something that has not been acknowledged by a number who wish to be critical of Sherri. Bob Stoops came into a program that had won six national titles in 48 years, among the best in the history of college football, certainly among the best post-war programs. He came into a program that had established itself as a strong recruiting stronghold that had operated effectively in the hotbeds of Texas, Louisiana, Southern California, and Florida, and OU controlled nearly all of the top recruits from Oklahoma. Prior to Stoops arrival, Switzer had won three national titles and twelve conference titles in sixteen years. Wilkinson had won three national titles and fourteen conference titles in seventeen years. Stoops has won one national title and eight conference titles in sixteen years. He has the same number of years as Switzer and one fewer than Wilkinson. He has fifteen more losses than either of them, about one per year. Wilkinson had built the program, elevating it from the status of a school that could go 10-0 in 1938 without much consideration for a national title to one that was always in consideration for a national title. He and George Lynn Cross had built the program, and he is a more fitting comparison for Sherri. Stoops is operating on their shoulders, the tradition that they built.I get it that a handful of fans get upset with any criticism of women's teams. They might not mind saying, "Bob Stoops needs to be fired" but they wouldn't dare say Sherri is not doing a good job of recruiting. That has every appearance of a double standard. It appears to me that neither Bob or Sherri are having a good year and both deserve some criticism. It's too late for Bob to do anything about this year. I hope Sherri still can.
