Kansas junior forward Cole Aldrich is expected to announce he's leaving for the NBA draft at a news conference on Monday afternoon, a source close to Aldrich and Kansas told ESPN.com.

Aldrich, a projected lottery pick, averaged 11.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per season in three years at Kansas. He averaged 14.9 points and 11.1 rebounds as a sophomore in 2008-09 after playing a limited role during the Jayhawks' 2007-08 national championship season. The 6-foot-11, 245-pound Aldrich is considered one of the top big men in the June draft.

Under a new NCAA rule, college players have until May 8 to withdraw from the draft. The deadline to declare is April 25. NBA teams can start working out players on April 29.

Hopefully he will get a new tooth with his first check, lol.

Thank you Fatty.

Entering the NBA Draft early. So easy, Cole Aldrich could do it.

After watching that, do you know what his GPA was at Kansas? Wasn't he an academic all-american? He must be one of those smart airheads. You know the type, the bimbo you sit by in class who texts on her phone all day and says dumb, unintelligible things and couldn't escape her way out her own room and then gets all A's.

From his wikipedia page:

Aldrich is also missing one of his front teeth after it was knocked out entirely during practice in February 2009.
LOL

I guess the Rug's begging/crying in the lockerroom after the UNI loss didn't do the trick.

I predict he will be worse than Ostertag but better than Pollard.

FYI, Carl Henry was telling everyone that wanted to hear at the Nike camp this weekend that X was going pro. Don't know how true it was, he may have just been trying to impress the campers.

This...all the hype he gets during their games made me sick...he was never a real force as was always suggested...

I expected him to come in and just dominate, never did...

Still think his best game was his freshman year when he did in NC and Hansbrough...

Sorry to go against the grain but I really hope the Thunder can get him.

They've already got a project in Byron Mullens and we've just got rid of Robert Swift. We're trying to progress not digress.

Actually, Aldrich is exactly what they need in a backup center and would be a perfect pick in that 20 range that they got Mullens. He will defend the rim and rebounds his area as well as anyone I've seen. He also sets great screens and is really physical.

He is what he is and the reason he will go lottery is there aren't many true centers who actually play like true centers.

Aldrich is prime example of how great Bill Self is and why he is such a masterful recruiter. He can tell kids...I made Cole Aldrich an all-american and lottery pick think what I can do with you. :woot
