We had one vacant, and then lose three scholarship seniors to graduation (Crocker, Wright, Gerber). That brings the total to 4. Then with Willis gone that's 5. If Willie leaves, which is likely, that's 6. If TMG leaves, which appears quite possible, that's 7. If Tiny isn't back, which I consider doubtful, that would be 8. Heck it could be even higher if Allen or Hardrick aren't back, but I consider that a longshot at this point. Still, I look for the total to be no less than 6 if not 7. That is an amazing amount of turnover.

I think Hardick is gone to....capel has to worry about his job and could use every avalable schollie...I know you cant play 13 guys but with the way he has been recruiting role players he needs all 13 to be decent talents and just hope 7 or 8 pan out

The more I think about it the more I think Hardrick is back. You're not going to sign 7 or 8 capable guys in the late period unless you're just signing up stiffs to take a seat on the bench. Now do I think Kyle is back for 2011-12? No I don't.

Amazing yes, but i am glad that Capel and the others involved in these decisions are doing this now rather than it taking 2 or 3 yrs to weed out the problems and mistakes...

If that is yourthinking that I say get rid of him and save the open schollie for next year....let these top talents that we are recruiting know that there is currently an available schollie...so they wont have to worry about whether we will get rid of a guy that they liked during their recruiting trip to make room for them...

Capel does not have 2 or 3 years. It is now or never for his career as a college head coach.

Well at some point you have to start thinking about your Academic Progress Rate. We are going to get nailed on that if we keep losing guys early.

How exactly does that work? Do we get penalized if it is not up to par?

That is true, but he knows he cant win with this bunch...so it is either go down with his current team that has already proven they arent capable of winning, or go out and get some guys that will buy in and at least compete...

I'd rather go out with guys that want to be here and play like it...

Looks like they could have as many as eight depending on what happens to Tiny, Hardrick and Allen. If those guys are back, then it's just five (or six or seven) depending on how many of them leave.

Right now you've got Davis, Pledger and Fitz pretty much confirmed to be back to go with Clark and Taylor.

The next 30 days are going to be really interesting to see what kind of player Capel is going to get.

my sentiments exactly. We go 13-18 with a group of kids who fought and scratched to get there and I feel hopeful vice just stunned like I am now.

On a positive note, i'm really glad Pledger and Fitz are staying...from the first game i thought they could be some guys the fans could grow with as their careers went on at OU...

Weird but both of these guys will be our Veterans next year and leaders, i just hope they embrace the role and continue to improve (i thought they both did throughout the year)...

Returnees: Fitz, Cade, Pledger, Gallon, Allen or Hardrick (need a practice body)

Newcomers: Clark, Taylor, and probably 5 signees in the spring.

Wouldn't be surprised if Capel held a schollie for next year...tough to find 5, let alone 6 guys in the spring period.
