So... Who do we want to play ?

Dayton is undefeated this season in games played in the State of Ohio. Something like 16-0.

OU needs to step up and win a big ROAD GAME against a good team. Dayton is very, very scrappy on defense. The refs let them play pretty rough on defense tonight.

(Make that 18-0)

Seriously how does an 11 seed get 3 home games to start the tournament? That is pathetic

This is a very legitimate question. How is the round one a pure home game? And then why are they in Columbus? Committee screwed the pooch.

I don't know if they're the 3rd tallest, but they are definitely taller than we are! Looking at the ESPN rosters:

OU (6'6" and taller: 8, with the tallest 6-9 & 6-10
Dayton (6'6" and taller: 7 - - tallest (2) 6-9s and (1) 6-11
Providence (6'6" and taller: 9 - - tallest 6-8, 6-9 & (2) 7 footers: 7-0 & 7-2

I think that I want Dayton.

Upon further reflection... not so sure. (A little late, Dayton has this game won.) Providence only out rebounded them by about 8 boards, not as big a disparity that I'd have thought.

Dayton reminds me of Iowa St a little bit in that they will probably be more athletic than OU while OU will probably have the better inside game. I'm not feeling good about this game on Sunday. We're going to have to play very well.

Hopefully their lack of depth and rebounding will catch up to them.

The best way to take a crowd out of the game.....just put it on them from the start. Dayton will hit the wall eventually. If we can push the tempo, we have a good chance to make it hard on them physically.

The "away" game sucks, but we have a chance to beat an 11 seed to go to the Sweet 16. I'll take that.

It could be legitimately argued that the committee got the Dayton-Providence seeds switched. Dayton looked clearly better than Providence all night. Dayton looked like they should have been the #6 seed, not Providence.

I was a big believer in the "fatigue" thing, but after watching Dayton last night, I definitely think that's overblown. I still think they could have some tired legs in the second half, but I doubt it's so much that it has much of an impact on the outcome of the game.

I still like OU's chances, but agree that if OU wins it will be more because they took advantage of their size than Dayton being tired.

Providence's top two players (their only players) both missed many shots and turned the ball over like crazy. I know UD played good D but it was an ugly game with missed shots all over the place.

I hope OU fans don't blame the refs if the fouls get to be one sided. Dayton was second in the country in either fouls drawn, or FT's attempted. They are almost certainly going to get to the line more than we do.

So... now that our game is officially done I still prefer that we played Dayton :woot

I was not going to argue with you pre-game, but post-game, I have the luxury of the box score: :woot

FREE THROWS

OU 19-24
UD 11-13

Who'd a thunk it?

To be fair a lot of those FTs for OU came the last minute or two. 2nd half Dayton was 1-3 from the line.

So, take away those 10, and we still shoot one more FT than Dayton.
